One of the most annoying (to me) things is loosing the antenna tube. Despite the screw it keep popping out. Glueing it in place is no real option and leaving the antenna wire unprotected goes against everything I ever learned. Protect your investment! No idea how much I've spent on these plasic things, I could use straws or plastic stirrers but the all fall out.
Simple fix, I started using expandable sleeving to clean up my wiring and always hated the 'frizzy' ends. Here, it comes in handy, do not cut with a hot knife, leave it stringy and slide over the antenna. The screw will now catch the frizzy ends and will make this bulletproof. You can clean up the other end. Done!
I was using 1/8th but 1/4 is what I sue for fan wires and will work as well.
Stop by and I'll give you a ft, these come in 25ft increments. Will last for a couple antennas
