I recently melted my granite 4x4 3s slipper clutch I have to buy a completely new one. Does anyone have any advice as to how to make them last longer than a couple runs without making it out of loctite, it’s getting frustrating that these don’t last longer than a run or two.

We have never melted a slipper on some pretty abused trucks.
No idea unless it was too loose.

The stock one is more than fine, unless you’re upgrading to some insane level of power (4s or more). Does it get loosen over time or something? Maybe yours was set to be too loose? It shouldn’t slip under normal driving, so if you hear it slips, something is wrong.

I’m running 3s with a 14t pinion. I was planning to get a bigger and lower kv motor to run on 4s to reduce cogging but it’s probably just going to add a bunch of weight. I managed to cobble together the slipper and I think it should hold up just as good as stock but I tightened it down as much as possible. I guess I’ll just have to watch my drivetrain temps because it was up to 300 when the Slipper overheated. The electronics stay pretty cool though.
