Granite Anyone put a BLX 185 ESC in their Granite 3s blx

All I would have to buy would be the larger 3674 motor as I have a free BLX185 coming and also metal HD slipper assembly

CVD driveshafts, the extra power is likely to make the stock driveshafts pop.

Who doesn't want more speed??? But no I agree with you there, the 3s setup at 50+mph is more than enough speed especially with how squirly the Granite is. I honestly just want to be able to run a 3s 7200mah pack with no heat issues/cogging or over stressing the electronics.

As you noted, the Granite won't go faster without flying off the road. It's not meant to be a top speed RC. If you don't want to overheat, get a motor fan (aluminum is a must if you're bashing hard.) I love my 7200mah, it gives me over 30 minutes run time. But a motor fan was immediately necessary. BLX120 may run a little cooler on 3s than the BLX100, but I haven't noticed a huge difference. With a 15 tooth pinion on 3s, I only overheat running in thick grass for an extended time. But I don't run that way. I don't even check temps anymore unless I'm running in particularly high spinning situations for a long time.

I run a huge 3s 8400mah battery and towards the end of run the esc has some issues on my big rock. The blx100 is kinda undersized for these 3s cars so the blx185 would be a big step up.

They thing I like the most about running 4s is there’s less of a power difference between 3s and 4s. 2s is just not enough power.

I run a blx185 and 4074 2200kv in my stampede 4x4 with a slash chassis... does that help? :)

I was trying to get away from heat issues since I run in grass a lot. The long chassis gave me room to do what I wanted without shoehorning stuff in and it also helped tame it quite a bit for 3S geared probably around 40-45mph. I run 3S 6200mah 50C packs in it. It lands hard, but holds up well (with many other upgrades of course).

Weight is everything.4068 2650kv an light packs works for me.blx185 will fit in granite thou.heres blx185 senton.love these 300gram 4s packs.blx185 will fit in granite thou.

Put stock 4074 6s arrma motor with 26t.behind stock blx100 esc it will solve all your problems you just spoke off with more torque. I've ran mine with this setup in 95+degree day.great 3s setup. You will have to reverse rotation on your ESC though or truck will be really fast in reverse and slow forward since motor sits other way in 3s rides

My granite is running the blx185 and the 4s motor on a 20 tooth. I only run 3s on it and all my 3s packs are 7600 may and I can run pack after pack with no heat issues. Zero cogging and rarely ever pop a shaft unless it is a real bad landing. Slipper is set so that on full throttle off the line front end only comes up a few inches. Once its rolling it will wheelie no problem at all.
