Associated 80wt (1000cst) front and 60wt (800cst) rear.

Front = Tekno TKR8767 Low Frequency 75mm Front Shock Spring Set (Orange - 4.91lb/in)

Rear = Tekno TKR6093 Spring Set Orange 1.6x7.5T, 6.11 lb/in 80mm

This is the best custom Senton build I've seen so far. I like polished aluminum parts. I'm surprised the HR letters are not wiped off. I thought it was painted on there. I would like to see the end result with the body on and off. Cool project, keep it up :)
 
Thanx :geek: the lettering must be etched in some way in the material. I had seen it before with the lettering on someone else’s parts.

Will keep the updates coming ;) Have you seen my Kraton build?
 
This is a brand-new senton and there was white globs almost like wax in the diff oil.

Front diff parts cleaned, shimmed, and installed in HR cup with 60w associated oil for front and rear diffs. Used new gaskets since the original ones seemed deteriorated; which is strange since it is brand-new... with my v2 Kraton this was not an issue.

Using a stainless steel screw kit for all; stripping and polishing any other black hardware items that are not in the kit.

1x additional Mugen shims one side of each cross pins behind planetary gears. 2-2-1, 2-1. I use 1x mugen behind the stock arrmas which has worked very well in my Kraton. I had to use 2x TEKNO 13x16x.1mm, Diff Shims (TKR1222) on the left crown gear bearing side left output. There were none that came installed from the factory like my v2 Kraton did; which was 1x on both front and rear diffs on the left side.

Used 1x kyosho KYO96773 8x12x0.2mm shim inside behind each diff input pinion gear.

Installed sway bar set because senton v3 does not come from factory with them. Sway bar set was from an outcast; uses same part numbers as senton.

Center diff built and shimmed with 500k associated diff oil. Test fit mock-up with 3x TEKNO 13x16x.1mm, Diff Shims (TKR1222) in front and 4x in rear bearing holders just like in my Kraton.

Hi, very nice progress with the Senton build. I am a little confused however on the shock springs you are using. You wrote earlier this:

But the number for the front ones is not correct I think. When I look for TKR8763 these ones come up: Tekno Low Frequency 75mm Front Shock Springs, Black - 3.58lb/in, 1.6x11.6. In the pictures I see you are using orange ones, so the stiffest ones. How do you like them? I ordered the black ones by accident but I find them too light. I've heard people suggesting the Tekno Green ones or Yellow ones.
  • TKR8765: Green - 4.14lb/in, 1.6x10.3
  • TKR8766: Yellow - 4.47lb/in, 1.6x9.7
What do you think? I run 4S mainly in my Senton. The Turnigy Graphene 6000mah packs. Maybe the orange fronts are too stiff for me?

The orange springs I am using may be too stiff for you if running 4s graphene 6000mah only. I have a little more weight with hw max5, leopard 4092, cap pack, 6s graphene 6000mah battery, and all the aluminum. I will have to add weight together when I have time.

Thank you for your confirmation about the part number above. I think I will go for the green of yellow ones. The yellow are one step less stiff than the orange ones, and the green ones are 2 steps less stiff than the orange ones. I don't have HR aluminum diff housings, but I do have aluminum chassis braces, servo mount and diff cups in the center and rear. Also I reïnforced the body so that adds a little bit of weight and the Graphene 6000mah 4S pack is huge and not very light. But the orange ones are maybe too much in the front for me indeed.

Do you know of a good way to make the Senton a little more wide so it doesn't roll over that easy? Can I use some sort of axle extenders or something? I don't want to swap out the complete driveline and a-arms for the outcast or kraton ones. That is a little bit too much of the good thing. Thank you.
 
If you go any wider than stock sct type bodies may not fit or look right.

May I ask what you are using to polish the parts ?

For polishing the deanodized parts I am using good old mothers, old T-shirt rags, hands, and drill. After hours long sessions you feel it :LOL:

Got some tips from Thomas P for stripping the cvd’s, dog bones, black screws and parts by using scotchbrite pads, drill, and Dremel/rotary tools.
 
More assembly, mounting, and rear lower diffuser is in place :cool:

The knock-off badlands tires are actually ribbed on the inside which was a pleasant surprise; hopefully this will reduce ballooning ;)

Had to use a bearing on top pillow ball shaft as a spacer on both sides for proper alignment for the front end.

Using PROLINE 630500 (Ten-SCTE, SCTE 2.0) Extended Front and Rear Body secure-loc body posts. The posts are smaller in diameter than the arrma posts. Had a brilliant idea falling asleep last night and thought that a Bic pen may be the same diameter to fit, and sure enough it is absolutely perfect inside and outside diameter :geek:

Wow that is one big ass servo. It's quite a bit taller than a regular servo right? You didn't run into any fitting issues? Looks good and 46kg is plenty of power for the little Senton. I have a JX 20kg servo in mine and even that one is very capable of throwing the Senton around. Very nice progress once again.
 
Do you actually run these rigs you build on a regular basis or are they more for show?
 
I do run them; very carefully ;) with this body though I am going to have to build a second one to be safe :D

seems like I have to have a project going or start thinking about one :geek: usually takes 3-6 months though per build.
