JRS breaks buys and breaks down the rigs right?

I would say the different prices proceed from the different prices of the rigs. Maybe... 😋
The Kraton and Notorious are the same price. Same thing with the Granite and Senton. But the parts are different prices 🤷‍♂️

One thing I noticed for the pages on JRC regarding the Kraton/Kraton EXB/Notorious Shocks is that the EXB ones have more/different wording in the description:

Am i blind... I can't find these Shocks at arrma-rc.com.
Is it just possible to order them in parts?

JRC isn't an option here in germany, thats why i am searching for an alternative.
I couldn't find them from Arrma either for some reason, you can order the parts to build them, but I think it would be cheaper with shipping to just buy them from Jenny's. @Badtouch The basher runs badtouchbreakers out of the UK idk if he has Mojave shocks though.

But here is a list of what you would need to build them from scratch.

A quick search shows the Axial bushings are on backorder across the board. Time to get creative!
So odd. I ordered a set of these for my daughters Traxxas Slash 2 weeks ago and they didn't work. Now I know what I can use them for!

@slick2500

Is there any big difference between the Mojave regular shocks and the EXB shocks? Same for the Kraton.
Also what to the Typhon shocks give you for the $20 increase per pair?
Thanks for this thread!

Last I checked the Kraton and Mojave regular shocks were 100% the same as the EXB shocks, I know the Talion EXB shocks they changed a few things since the previous version of the Talion, I would have to double check the Outcast EXB as I am not sure if they are the same as the Notorious shocks.
When I originally made the thread in the suspension section the Typhon shocks were the closest in length and spring rate to the stock shocks they were also the cheapest Arrma shocks on Jennys, they were only like $20 a pair but since everyone and their mom started using them supply and demand has driven the price up.

Supply and Demand  It's a trifling B

The only reason I asked was there was a price difference between the regulars and EXB shocks just for those two.

I may be repeating questions but I want to make sure I understand everything:

I currently have enough parts to make for sure 1-2 more rear shocks and 1-2 front shocks for my Granite. Once all those are used up, I think I'm going to go with the Mojave/Kraton/Notorious shocks. I want something durable so I hopefully don't have to keep replacing shocks.

So just to be clear, I need those axial bushings for the top of the shocks in order to make the hole smaller, right? Do the bushings somehow open up to make the slot on the top of the shocks smaller so they don't have so much play?

Then as I understand it, the springs for the Mojave/Kraton/Notorious shock will be too stiff and I cannot use them with my Granite. And the stock ones can't be swapped in?

Is there anything else I will need to make those shocks work with a Granite BLX?

Thanks!

The stock Arrma 3s are way better. ZD looks good outside. The whole rod guide is too weak. Basically the lower isolator is the only rod guidance - about 3-4 mm guidance height for the rod. The upper plate has a lot of play to the side and breaks right at the rod. There is no way it can last. They also tend to leak. The ride height is also too high and results in sloppy steering. Adding an inner fuel line is a must. The holes in the upper plate are too big. Better results with 2000 weight diff oil.

Went through about a dozen, the rest landed in the bin.
Back to the stock arrma shocks. Pretty durable, easy to repair.

In my honest opinion the best shocks for these are the following in no particular order.
  • Arrma 6s shocks
  • Tekno SCT410 shocks
  • HPI/HB Racing shocks
  • Hobao Hyper SS shocks
  • Losi DB Pro shocks for the Vorteks
Everything else is either cheap crap or overpriced for what they are. Some day I am going to go with the Teknos on both of my 3s vehicles.

Boooooo, my ZD Racing shocks just arrived. You've made me a little less eager to install 😔

@slick 2500: Great compilation. Very helpful!

@symbiotix: Install them. You have to drill the eye open so the pivot ball fits. Drive and bash them. I first thought it's my fault because I did full speed long jumps. They are pretty inexpensive so it's not too much of a loss.
"Made in China" which means - best quality or bad quality. You don't know beforehand...

I’ve just fitted the proline 3s shocks, what a difference they make to the stock ones, Very happy with them. Also got a new motor mount from (customrcupgrades) that’s not going to bend anytime soon that’s for sure.

I've bent one ZD racing shocks and bent 3 Arrma 3s shocks and popped 3 from the bottom where they are just pushed in.

I do find the ZD racing rear ones a bit bouncy when shortened but maybe heavy shock oil will help smooth that out.

So what oil and springs, I purchased the Mojave and Kraton 6s fir BRCC I not a big jumper just rough grounds tree roots etc.

Hey guys, been reviewing more and more on suspension options for my v3 BRCC everyone says that the Kraton s6 shocks are best choice. I've been looking at shocks budget wise and have looked at the GPM option. What just occurred to me was what about getting GPM Kraton s6 shocks instead than the S3 version? Anyone tried this?

ZD shocks installed on my Big Rock with Outcast 4s springs (AR330532 and AR330533) and 50w oil. I followed the recommendations of 'Suchtragedy' in the ZD racing thread and they feel pretty damned good without breaking the bank. About 50% preload front and 35% rear. Might mess with the rear a bit.
