Hiya

We’re new to Arrma world but we have been enjoying our Granite for the last 3 months. Suddenly today the servo stopped, meaning completely dead steering.

Everything else works fine (eg forwards and backwards). Batteries fully charge including handset. We’ve also checked the obvious dial on the handset on steering sensitivity (Steering dual rate).

It does not feel like anything is caught in the steering mechanism and it is easy to move.

We are trying to find the root cause and have reached an impasse.

We think it could be the servo. If these fail, is it normal for them to suddenly stop with no notice? Possibly with hindsight we probably had to tweak the trim more than normal but no obvious warning or failure signs …

Is there anything else obvious we can check? Any ideas?

Thanks is advance.

You can check to make sure the plug hasn't come loose but unfortunately the stock servo is
almost a guaranteed failure. I'm actually surprised it lasted 3 months. You can warranty it but the replacement will fail also. Most here will recommend either
https://www.amazon.com/35kg-Steerin...060&sprefix=servo,aps,155&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1#

Or

As a much more dependable option.
You will also need this servo saver to mount it. ARA340151

Thank you Moonstonemike and Alan - you are legends!!

I have tried the plug but to no avail, so I’ll get the parts.

From your appreciative brother in arms from across the pond 👍

For the blx cars it’s absolutely normal. I’ve had two that broke within 20 packs. The servo is the weak point. Get a 35kg one and you won’t regret it. $25 ish. But you need the red servo saver from arrma to make it fit and a rotary tool would be helpful.
