Hey guys just wanted to share a light mod we did on my Infraction in case anyone was looking for ideas that work with the unusual design like the infraction. I do a lot of evening running with my rigs so lights are almost always a must but the Infraction’s design presented some different challenges. I don’t like doing lights attached to the bodies of my rigs with wires needing to be secured to the body because jumping and bashing seem to take their toll on them so I strictly do light mods where lights can be installed/secured to the chassis/frame of the rig. Because of the untraditional front and rear ends like the Infraction has, this mod was a bit different than my other ones. I only use white 2” and 4” Proline “super bright” LED bars on front ends and Gear Head red LED bars on rear ends and Gear Head metal mounting kits. These bars are not the cheap route but I believe you get what you pay for. These bars are all waterproof and all run between $44-$49 each with the mounting kits for $9 per. This is my fourth light mod and I’m pretty rough on my rigs and have yet to have one of these bars fail. I’ve tried bars that are half the price and they’ve all crapped out within a month so in the long run I’ve found these to be the less expensive route. The fronts are 2” Proline “super brights” and the rear is a 2” Gear Head “red”. Fronts are recessed into the foam insert and secured with Gorilla Glue with wiring threaded up through the top via a cavity punched in the foam with a Dremel and the cutouts on the body were done with the Dremel. The rear is mounted with the Gear Head metal mounting kit directly to the diffuser with the wiring threaded through a hole popped using the Dremel in the air port of the diffuser. Here are a few pics. Would like to see what some other guys did if you do lighting on your rigs.

Why not! It's a good idea. (y)
I like the location of the red bar at the back of the truck.

When I drive at full speed, even in a large, lighted car park, it is easier to handle the truck.

On the other hand for Infraction if you install a 6-inch light bar on the roof, I make sure the glare of light illuminates the floor. :)

It lights up a lot and you risk being blind and losing the truck for 2 seconds. ??

I know what you mean. My lightbar is blinding if not angled down. Light tends to be widely spread up and down. At least on my Attack 2" ones.

I run at night a lot when there's no one around. You can send it and still see it. Wht. front and Red rear helps you see it's orientation from far.
I can run anywhere there is little lighting. Unlike before. Also I tend to run at dusk. I used to wrap things up when dark, and usually have a pack left unused. Now I can finish all my packs.

Thanks guys! Couldn’t agree more SrC. That’s exactly why I use red in the rear. Can’t take all the credit because a buddy of mine who’s got amazing creativity was the one who suggested the recess in the foam bumper and threading the wiring through it. I was struggling in how to cleanly and securely mounting those fronts. But like usual he’s my ace in the hole when I’m at a roadblock. Sure is nice having a buddy like that who’s an RC’er also but has a crazy sick knack for creativity. Anyway, hope it helps anyone that maybe thinking about doing lights. These are probably the most secure mounts I’ve done so far fwiw.?
