Hi all,

New to the forum and this will be my first post/theead. I’ve had the notorious for a few years now and have kept it stock and just replaced the parts broken with Arrma replacements using mostly Jennys RC and other than fitting Phase 1 mudguards and bumpers from new. I recently picked up a Kraton EXB v2 after my nephew took over my Notorious v5 as I thought it was ready to introduce him to 4/6s following his MT10 (still going well) it is my first run with the Kraton today but so far I have fitted scorched titanium rear hubs, scorched rc front knuckles, m2c rear skid plate, phase 1 front bumper and m2c wheel nuts and also protected the components with some anti corrosion spray hoping to make maintenance removal of the parts easier with time.

Please see below my beautiful scorched hubs fitted to all 4 corners

Can’t wait to get this out and give it a good bash this afternoon.

Thanks all
Matt

Hi N.Mango,

Thanks for the comment and welcome to the forum- much appreciated! There nothing special but I love them- and in all honestly the Notorious v5 has been great, my nephew is over the moon with it and it’s got him into the bigger 6s 1:8 scale cars!

They are Arrma's...so they are special. ;)

Glad you and your nephew are into it.(y)

I’ve recently began a renewing the heard project , I’ve sold 5 rc’s and a load of parts , and my first agenda was to process the new notorious and the new exb Kraton , I’ve accomplished this and I’ve been in this addiction for 30 years now ,and these two new rc’s are just over the top in driving , jumping , racing, quality and all aspects of performance right out of the box !! I’ve always opened the box on new rc’s and replace almost everything, but these two are very nice out of the box , just so nice to see Arrma answer the bell after ten years of crap from all brands , I’m just completely happy with these , ABSUGULOOOOOOLY recommend these in your future purchases 👍👍💪💪💪💪

Funny. After 30 years I've been doing the exact same thing.
I've sold a few and bought one so far. Havnt posted about it yet though 🤫

I have 1 new in hiding also. Waiting for the opportune time 😂

Funny how that works.

Nah the new 1 I'm working on is on the table in plain sight. Wifey isn't to happy but sold rc's paid for it so....

Evening all,

Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

Why didn’t I get a Kraton sooner!
Wow the thing flys, handles like it is on rails and so far has been an insane basher! Run 10 packs through it already 4s and 6s for a few packs! It’s seriously quick! Had a mix of loose gravel, the moors and woodland it got extremely dusty and muddy so have given it a clean off tonight and finished it off with some muc off silicone protectant to add a bit of protection to the plastics and making washing a little quicker! I use my IT duster to blow out all excess water following a wash and don’t blow into the bearings! Loving the scorched hubs front and rear! The chassis now finally has some scrapes and next bash out it’s going for some jumps!

I cannot believe how differently the handling is compared to my now nephews notorious and the steering to say there both on the 665 servo is night and day

Love the red accents of the diff housing and shock towers! I added the v6 taller side guards and have just received the rpm arms front and rear and rear mudguards for a change over shortly as the M2c mudguards couldn’t find in stock!

Thanks all and happy bashing! 👍

Matt

Evening all,

Hope everyone had a good bank holiday weekend.

Had a wicked bash at the weekend 3 packs through the Kraton on the moors and no issues, took some bad landings and the chassis is pretty scratched up! But the M2c rear skid plate seems to be doing its job! Along with the scorched hubs and front knuckles ,Was a dusty one so gave the Kraton a good clean down and put lubricant etc on the parts needing it! Took the covers off of the esc fan and the motor fan to get the small pieces of gravel and rocks that had made there way into it!

My nephew had his first bash on 6s with the 100% power and the notorious took a battering- my nephew trying to backflip didn’t go as he wanted! I also turned up the brakes a little which as you can imagine didn’t go as planned on his speed runs and the real steel is really starting to show 😂 Few cracks to the shell but nothing obviously wrong with it- still to clean tomorrow night and check over the full car.

N.Mango- continuing the red theme I have fitted the red rpm rear arms and mudguard tonight after work and checked all screws etc are tight ready for another bash at the weekend!

Absolutely loving the Kraton exb v2 and so far all seems good, no diff issues or any issues other than scratches and scrapes!

Thanks all.
Matt 😃

Sounds like you all had a blast! (y)

So good to see someone else diggin the EXB Red theme!

Thank you! 🙏 I really am digging the red black and chrome them on this rig! Really impressed with it so far, completely different rig to drive to the notorious got a few more upgrades planned but thinking to upgrade things as stuff breaks other than fitting the front rpm upper and lower arms in the next few weeks! I can’t believe how quick it is out the box and how agile it is even on rough terrain just goes were it is supposed to!

I’ve read on here about not fitting the m2c dog bones +mm with the scorched hubs is there a reason and in the future would you recommend the scorched to ensure parts comparability?

What’s everyone working on at the minute?

Thanks
Matt 😃

I've heard mixed opinions on the longer dog bones.
On one hand, they do stay put better, but on the other hand, if you don't limit the travel, they can do damage under full compression.

As far as M2C and Scorched compatibility, I don't know.

Hi all,

Hope everyone had a good weekend and is enjoying this mini heatwave! Haven’t managed to get out with the Kraton these couple of weekends, but did have a good bash about a month ago, was a dirty muddy mess but the Kraton loved it but not quiet as much as I did! I thought I’d treat the Kraton to a few little bits so have ordered the scorched centre driveshafts, scorched motor mount titanium screws, surpass rocket fan for the esc and some bearings for the centre diff for when I take it out to fit the scorched centre drive shafts and finally a 14t teckno pinion- I got some CNHL battery’s not long after the last post a 6s pack and a 4s pack I got 55mph on the gps on the fire tracks in the woods on its last bash. Absolutely loving it so far and as of yet nothing broken, the body is a bit beaten up a few scuffs and scrapes to some of the shocks but loving it! Complete different animal to the notorious v5. After the bash it was a good clean down. Dry down and some mix off silicone protectant on the full rig and a final wipe down.

Hope everyone is enjoying their rigs as much as im enjoying this one and looking forward to another good bash in the next couple of weeks.

Thanks
Matt 😃

Evening everyone!

Hope people are enjoying this mini heat wave!

Worked on the Kraton tonight, I installed one of the rocket fans onto the motor and am awaiting another (hopefully being delivered tomorrow) for
The esc! Received my scorched centre driveshafts, titanium motor mounts, tekno 15t pinion!

I had planned to fit these at the weekend however I had an issue with my servo earlier this week after a quick bash after work, plugged my spare servo
Into the receiver and all was ok so
Confirmed it was the servo! This has now
Been replaced with one I ordered a while ago from jennys when I placed an order for the notorious spares and v6 shocks for the notorious!

I went on disassembling what I needed to replace
The parts and got
Carried away I guess, had centre diff apart cleaned and replaced with 100k centre fluid (tbh there wasn’t a lot in when I took it apart so thought best do it right now it’s off) all now back together and have put on some 6s
Backflips! Had a quick bash well road and grass bash with what charge I had left in my 6s pack. Crazy difference car feels more planted any it seems to fly, it was quick before with the stock pinion but once up to near full throttle with the 15t pinion full throttle and it’s flipping!

Problem is I don’t know now what has made the biggest difference which is annoying me now!

Will get some pics following a clean down and protect at the weekend when i check everything over before running again!

Thanks all
Matt

I hope it’s not just me that enjoys working on the car and cleaning it just as much as I enjoy bashing it! Only problem I have now found is I’m itching to upgrade bits but also enjoy taking it apart so prefer getting one bit at a time stripping down with some cleaning of hard to access parts and just repeat!
