bummer,
I literally just finished my V1 Limitless and now I have buyers remorse. I'm wondering if the V2 would be much better in my situation since it seems like most of the upgrades are to accommodate more robust electronics for speed running?
My current setup is
X8S
1650 1717 motor
have the 46T center diff from the infraction which is what I'm running now with a 27T pinion and will probably experiment with the 34T spool in the future

Car will be used for bashing and experiment with some speed runs but doubt that I'll try for much beyond 110 or 120 mph unless I can find a stretch of road where I could run it safely. With that being said, are their any real advantages to the V2 over the V1 for my intended use??

Anything less than 120mph , and for bashing the V1 will be better.
Because the V1 diffs are very easy maintain, and diff parts are very cheap.

120mph+ you need V2

Bashing cheap V1

Pure Speedruns V2 offcourse

I will self keep all my Limitless V1 i have many of them for bashing and drifting.
Dayly runners

I will buy One V2 and have it only for Speedruns that i do maybe 2 times month summertime
Nothing crazy, just 140-150mph

The v1 works fine up to 109mph. Any more than that and you need a v2.
V1 will easily take you to 140-150mph+. I'm quite certain that Jamie Morrison broke 150mph with 3.307 diffs before switching to GP5 diffs. Here's a quick speed calculation with a Castle 1717 on 8S with 35/29T gearing and V1 diffs.

bashing V1 is better, diff maintaince is every 20packs by manual and 160mm lipos fits 8000mah and bigger
V2 fits max 150mm

V2 diffs is every 10packs by Manual. ( Maintaince, oil service )
Maybe these can be run 20packs with 6s ?
I mean Infraction V2 what says that manual ? 10 or 20 packs ?

Also like i say before. The diff parts are very cheap compared to the new ones, and super simple work with

I wonder one thing

Safe D drive cups, they wobble many say
is there Option for better ?

What i like alot about V2 is that you can have longer and bigger motor 110mm and 56mm with option motormount from Arrma
and that both center driveshafts are only 114mm, Scorsched have them in Titanium ? White drive cups they need ?

I don't know what GP5 diffs are, how they work, or how they are work whit, i have only done many GP4.
I don't like the GP4 alot, i think the V1 diffs are better, those we had in V3/V4 6s rigs Also before EXB and allt this new

GP5 ? how are these compared to V1 diffs ? Expensive parts ? how is the Maintaince and durability ?
GP5 is stock in Felony and V2 Infraction , and now this V2 Limitless
I know they are for more speed. How about parts and service compared to V1 ? Price and so on

Raz Shifrin was the first hit 150mph with Limitless a long time ago

A few very bright flashing lights is sufficient. You don't have to see the whole car in the distance, as long as you can recognise the direction it's facing. (mostly for turning)
If the car is properly dialed in and you know the road, it's all about catching that initial perfect line. Once you can keep the line whiles it passes you, you can completely focus on the enginesound for your throttle and the breaking point for breaking. At <100mph it just wants to go into the direction its going...
As long as that direction isn’t the corn field, you’re good 🤣

No I didn't every post from that thread is still right here.

I'd be banning people left and right if I had the power to do so..... Especially if they were coming at me like that....

I am confusioned. First you declare that the diff parts for the old diffs are "very cheap compared to the new ones and super simple to work with".

A few sentences later you admit that you know nothing about GP5 diffs, be it price, maintenance or durability. How do these two things fit together?

I never said anything to the contrary or that Jamie Morrison was first. I merely commented that he did go 150mph with V1 diffs in reply to a comment that stated that if you plan on going faster than 109mph you would need a V2. I'm sure there are others but I didn't do a Youtube deep dive to try and verify the chronology of Limitless 150mph speed runs because I didn't feel as though it would have added anything of value to my comment. So I'm not sure what point you were trying to make here or if you were even trying to make a point at all. 🤷‍♂️

Well you need to answer your phone. I created an account here and posted a lot so I'd seem legit. I finally found you. So.................would you like to extend your cars warranty?

They call me every day.
I repeatedly tell them I have a 2021 Mercedes (jokingly) and they still forward me to the warranty specialist. Who's almost always eating a biscuit when he answers.
