Since there's a giveaway there's not been a better time to start a build log for this big blue beasty. Owned from new since August 2019 and has been my favourite RC of 7 rigs to date

HW Max6 install and rebuild!

Stripped the entire rig down for a clean. All has been re-greased, re-shimmed, refilled and retuned. Just waiting on some tin/lead solder lost in the post for the ESC leads ?

Out with the old and in with the new

Had to cut out a notch in the side guard for the 4985 motor to fit

Can anyone recommend a new body I can paint up? I'd like a similar thickness and toughness as the stock one if possible

Nice and shiny centre diff ?

Does anybody else take over the dining room table when it comes to wrenching on RCs? ?

Thanks buddy! Yes I'm thinking of painting one up. I've checked out a few Pro-Line clear truck bodies but I've heard mixed reviews. Have you had any experience with them? Do you know if they're as thick and tough as the Arrma ones?

To be honest with you, in my experience there is no thicker tougher body than the arrma bodies. The aftermarket ones seem to be thinner and not as tough. (Unless you go with the unbreakable ones). You could always get a clear outcast or notorious body and it will be as thick as your stock one. But clear so you can make it your own.

Awesome... I think I will actually. I love the Notorious body so I could just grab another. I'm thinking metallic silver with red trim and some matte black details. Thanks for the suggestion brother ?

All soldered up. Even made myself a loop connector

After a 6s test run with the 20t pinion the motor ran hot in 26°c (80°) heat

So I'm dropping down to an 18t pinion with a HW fan zip tied on to keep her cool

Only half way through the first coat the brand new spray can went kaput ? packed it all away and now I'm left waiting for another ?

No but I did think about it. I wanted something a bit different and I didn't find I made the most of the real steel effect with the roll cage bolted on
