Yeah it’s mint. Just a query... the fans are meant to blow cool air onto the motor or draw hot air away? I’ve set it up to blow cool air onto the motor.

Yes, the fans should blow the cool air to the motor

I got the castle one for my 1515 motor. Keeps it very cool.

I have a question for anyone. When I replaced my bearings in my castle motor it had a bunch of sand in it. My question is do you think I should close up the extra mounting holes with some high temp rtv or similar to seal up the motor or does the motor need venting holes? I tried taking a picture of the sand but it's hard to see. View attachment 14490

Personally I would not plug the holes. Like you said it helps air flow through the motor. I would just spray the heck out of it but some WD-40 to flush all the sand out and let it dry.

I would use quick dry electronics cleaner before WD40, it doesn't leave a film that will attract even more dirt.

I'm going to order a dual fan heatsink for my Outcast. Should I plug that in to my reciever?

Awesome. Thank you. Somebody else was saying they used a couple y harness and linked the two heatsink fans to the ESC fan. But that's a lot to draw off of one port in my opinion.

Thanks guys, I've moved the Y-harness to the receiver and everything sounds a lot happier.

Real PITA getting the harness through the receiver housing seal though.

Does it cause any problems running 3 fans off the ESC output, rather than the original 1?
I don't think it cause any problem. I have been using this setup from the beginning and I don't think it cause any problem video

Hey guys i have just installed the YR tornado twin fans and they work a treat. Straight up install even for a noob like me.
I’m thinking of doing your setup for my kraton Could you tell me what’s the part number of the YR tornado twin fans? What size heat sink do i need and is it included with the fans or do I have to buy separate?

I’ve been running it this way as well from the start. I have it installed on my Outcast & Kraton...... I haven’t seen or heard any issues yet.

The fans ampere is low. That's why I think it want hurt.

This is what I ended up with for now. I had an old Syma quad which I cut the female adaptor off. I then spliced it into the Y harness. Next I cut the adaptors off both fans and spliced them to the harness. I used liquid electrical tape, heat shrinked it then regular electrical tape.

Right now I’m using a 3.7v 500mah battery which came from the Syma. I image they will last a while but I’m going to test it. I dipped the batteries in liquid electrical tape to waterproof them also. For now I secured the battery with a velcro command strip so I can pull it off to charge.

The reason I did this was I didn’t want to draw off the rc lipo and shorten run time.
