This thread for my talion

I have been browsing the internet for over a month now :D
Looking for brushless truggy to bash with
I must have watched all yt videos about brushless truggy and do a research
On the forums
I end up joining tons of forums just for this darn obsession of brushless truggy :D
When i see something i like on yt and re search on forums
They always have a weak parts on them
Untill i saw a video of this talion on rcn network?
I think that is his yt name
He wasnt driving that talion he was flying it lol
So i did a research on it again

Complaint 1
Owner of this talions
Have a complain again like every other truggies out there
They always have a complain
So the problem with talion is esc
Everyone that owns a talion must have complained about the esc
(Its good to know they bringing out a new esc)
Kudos to arrma

Complaint 2
Wing holders are a weak part (if you landed on the wing after a jump)
And without the wing and jumping it landed on the back without the wing
You are bound to break something on the back
(The wing is to protect it also from breakage)
Its a good thing rpm is coming out with wing holder
That should take care of that

These 2 complaints about this truggy
Compared to other truggies out there is nothing
Can easily be fixed
Thats tbe reason why im getting a talion

I am new to rc
I have never have an rc before
And so far this is the info i have on this firs rc
Right now im not sure if ill wait untill they have the new esc on them
Or just order one right now
I know arrma will change it if something goes wrong
But what if it'll burn down the whole rc lol
Will they change the whole rc (doubtful)

Or im better off taking out the motor esc and get a new esc combo
Can someone reccomend a good esc combo motor for the talion?

Thanx

You don't necessarily need a combo, alot of people just replace the esc and use the stock motor. I would go with a hobbywing max8 esc. Save the extra cash in case your servo goes out, they are hit and miss.

Cool thanx
Tbats good to know the motor on this is good
I almost forgot about the servo
What would be the best servo for this rig?

I've put into my talion a spektrum s6230 and trust me now it's awesome! For the esc i suggest you a hobbywing ezrun max8v3 150amp or a mamba monster

I'm going to be putting a savox 1270tg in mine at 7.4V it is around 480in/lbs and .11sec/60deg. Just need to get a better servo mount.

Ya I have put in on the drawing for it every day and have looked at building one with the axail post and some carbon fiber.

Carbon fiber wouldnt that be to weak for this rc?
Carbon fiber is very strong and used a lot I'm rc. There are some on the forum that are using it for shock towers and chassis braces. There are some RCS that even a come with carbon fiber chasis.

Captn ron your screen name look familiar to me
Are you also in to scale boats
I think thats where i have seen your name

Did you try to joint the facebook group ? A lot of people there and they know how to program a ESC. I'm in the rc's world since august only! https://www.facebook.com/groups/652614441516909/

Cool ill check them out maybe i can learn from them

Thanx

Hello :)
My 2 cents
I really enjoy the truck , Best truck i ever had (i Had 2 E revos, HPI FLUX, XL,XS, Slash,Pedey..etc)
That said, the electronics in it are terrible. My esc lasted one run on 4s lipo. Maybe 10 minutes.Supposedly i got the new style ESC. Servo was next .
I removed it all and replaced it with CC Mamba X and CC2200kv motor and Savox 1210sg servo (all waterproof)
I absolutely love it now.
here is my video of the mods

The new arrma esc 185 will be out in a couple of months
(What exactly is a couple of months)
doesn't know lol
Darnit i think i should just order it now and yank out that darn electronics
So no more problem to think about
What do ya guys think?

Final question before ill make my order
I cant wait for couple of months cause of that esc
Ill probably change all electronics on it

Was the talion properly shimmed?
Or i need to inspect everything like any other rc rtr out there
What should i do before start running thing rig
