Very Nice!! I just got my first Typhon this week thanks to the sale. I unboxed it and liked it so much that I ordered a 2nd one and I still haven't driven the first one yet. I am actually considering buying one more before the sale ends but I also want a K6 EXB and those are on sale at AMZ for 10% off right now. I suppose the only solution is just to buy both, right?

As I have not driven this yet, does anyone know how the car does with the 53/107's vs the smaller/lighter 42/100's or GRP's?

Save $100 with code NEWYEAR. Ends 1/31.

I just ordered number 3 since I had a bunch of points from the previous 2 typhons:

I’ve found the 53/107’s to be a really weird tire. Not much grip compared to the same compound in the 42/100’s. I initially went for the look, but went back to the 42/100’s. Doesn’t matter which you choose as long as you run consistent sizes at all four corners. Some have found that the Hoons seem to get grippier after a few cycles.
GRP’s are a little smaller, a lot lighter, and offer better grip in my experience.
The PowerHobby Grippers can give that groovy staggered look with the same o.d. and are better on pavement than the Hoons, at least on the parking lots I’ve been on.
Have you ever tried these on a Typhon? According to the specs they are about 48/107 but that weight seems crazy high unless they maybe totaled the weight of both wheels together.

Never tried them. And congrats on your purchases. You can’t have too many Typhons! (I have four in various forms.)
Thx, I finally decided to take out Typhon #1 (#2 arrives Tues, #3 by Friday hopefully) even though the roads are wet from all the snow we had the other day. This thing is going to be fun but it is pretty squirrely on the wet pavement with no AVC so I think I am glad I ordered that RC6GS/R7FG to try on one of the cars. Hopefully, their gyro works as well as the Traxxas TSM as I am not a big fam of the way AVC behaves on my Infraction and Vendetta comapred to TSM so far.

Honestly, I’ve never had great luck with any of them, but I do have limited experience with gyros. TSM was somewhat helpful on a 2wd Slash. It made another one virtually undriveable. Any 4wd rig I have it hurt more than it helped but in all fairness I never spent much time trying to tune it in well. I just played with gain here and there and eventually turned them all off. I haven’t played with the RadioLink yet, but I’ve been meaning to.

Did you ever end up purchasing these? I've had my eyes on them for a while because they are one of the few speed tires you can buy that mount to a 12mm hex and it says they are good up to 100mph.

I think I might get to run some of my cars today.

I have Typhon #1 all set to go with 20/50 gears, a cheap motor fan, and some PH 42/100:

Typhon #2 has 25/46 (LOL) gears and the White 42/100 Hoons, but I want to put the motor fan on it before I run it even in the cold with that silly gearing.

Typhon #3 and my Fireteam are out of commission until I get off my lazy butt and put their diffs back together with some heavier fluid.

Typhon Mega converted to brushless. 3S slipper clutch, stock Kraton 4S system, 20T pinion, 5200 3S Zee batteries. Now has the 4S motor plate and the BLX tie rods. Need to update the shocks. Surprises a lot of people. Bought a 3S BLX Typhon for the oldest grandson's Xmas gift. Can't wait for spring to see how it compares. Lol.

Built from slider, ran over by a lady in a Cadillac on purpose, only broke left shock rod to tower screw, bent and broke other screws(keep spares)bent back shock tower and lower hinge pin and decided to put new bearings in and diff fluid. Did t even break the wing, wing mount ie anything else. Arrma tuff baby!¡! The towers being higher than electronics save it them. Body not even split. Now faster than ever. 💪🤙💯
