I'm likely going to order an Arrma Notorious (first RC car in a long time) next week and need to find some batteries to go with it. I'm planning to start out with 4S to get used to driving and remembered smc-racing to be a quality brand. It looks like this True Spec Premium 7400mAh should fit but I'm wondering, at what point I need to be concerned about weight? The 5400mAh version is out of stock or I would probably go with those. I also plan to add the t-bones bumper, wheelie bar and wings to help with the inevitable learning curve. How heavy is too heavy? Especially considering I'm going to be driving like a drunk toddler for awhile.

That one's 652 grams ? That's fine.

Edit:
My 2 x 3S are 341g each (682g total) while my 6s battery is 838g.

That’s a nice battery. I like them about that weight. My 6s packs are the 4800mah hardcase and I have one heavy one which is 6200mah and 780grams. Don’t really see much difference in run time but when getting biggish air the truck lands like it has a load of bricks in it. It is a violent event.

I’m running 2 3s 10,500mah SMC in my notorious...... little back end shock adjustment needed and honestly if I didn’t already have them I would’ve done a single 6s. Not sure on total weight but initially it was definitely looking like a trophy truck going uphill.

I’m guessing you took the top off the battery tray to fit 2 of them in a Notorious? I think the size info is below. Almost 1.4Kg the pair!

Length 160mm / 6.29in
Width 47mm / 1.85in
Height 44.6mm / 1.75in
Weight 685gr /24.16oz

Yup lol had to get a new strap for clearing them both also but man will it run wide open for ages lol. Damn it’s 685g a block? Hahahaha awesome. It’s done kart wheels at top speed and no issues. Pretty surprised how well this thing handles compared to the Nero, it takes a bit of effort or a mailbox to throw this thing over. Run a 5200 6s 50c lectron pro, and it picks up way more with half the weight

Woah, big hoss! lol
Have you stiffened the suspoension on that side ? ;)

Yea I had to, the springs are real soft from factory imo, had a legit gangsta lean going lol. Did a little test today running 1/4mile give or take 100’ on just running wide open up and down. Got 6 runs before 3.7 low voltage sounded (intermittently) on my 5200 6s and on the SMC dual 3s I lost count but called it at 27min. Batteries avg 3.89 per cell at the end. Needless to say I’ll be modifying the Nero to accept the 10.5k mah also at this point. For opinion purposes my 6s block cost 119.99 so it’s not a top of the line and SMC isn’t God tier compared to typical (venom, turnigy etc) batteries.
