CNHL Racing 90c 3s 6200mah

The G+ series is also decent, but doesn't fit well, 2mm too wide.

Are there advantages/disadvantages to using soft packs
Advantage: you can see minor damage before it turns into major damage and a fire.

Disadvantage: less protection against damage.

I use mostly soft packs and I bash pretty hard. I think I’ve only had one problem with physical damage to a soft pack, and I own over 50 lipos. I accidentally drifted my X-Maxx sideways into a small tree.

I prefer soft packs so you can see any damage done to them. But you cant have the rear end of the lipo sticking out like a long lipo in a N6/K6.
A rock under the lipo can damage the pack beyond use as well... Just needs extra consideration.

I have seen hard case cause damage as well. Where the lipo is not secured inside the case and the case is too large, so the lipo rattles around inside - often with some amount of debris.

Hardcase are better for most, as long as you pay attention to how the lipo acts/charges or keep tabs on ir once in awhile.

CNHL.. I use G+ 5000mAh 6s bricks, fit just fine in all my 6s Arrma’s, don’t like the two 3s method, too much extra cabling not needed flapping about 😉
Any CNHL’s just get them on their sale and special offer days.!!

You'll get answers all over the board for that question.

From my personal experience, you get what you pay for. Keep one thing in mind, this is the one component to this hobby that has the potential to burn your rig, or worse yet, your house down.

You can get lucky with cheap batteries. Many have. But there's always that chance you'll get a bad one. In this case, getting a bad one can cost you a lot. So far this year, on one FB group I follow, there have been 4 rigs burn down, all 4 were running budget batteries. Of course, it could have been mishandling of the batteries, overheating, etc, but I don't think it's a coincidence.

I only run Gens Açe batteries these days. Yes, they cost more, but they run cooler than any other brand I've used, and I trust them to be assembled properly. There are lots of places to cut costs in this hobby, batteries are not the best place to do it. Just my .02

Appreciate it..got a few on the way, obviously stock kraton will handle thier discharge without any real prevalent issues?
Is about if the battery can handle what the ESC is asking for and motor asks for power from the ESC.

What would you consider cheap batteries?

I’ve got cnhl 3s 8000mah I had to modify the slider clamp thing on the battery tray because they are little too tall for it and I also have their 10,000mah 6s pack that thing is a damn brick it’s a tight fit in the battery tray and I only really run that in my
Mojave or if my v2 exb is strictly on grass because it hangs over the chassis but all in all they are great batteries I’ve had them about a year the one 3s battery the Ec5 connector is kinda shot so I need to get practicing my soldering skills lol

Any of the Amazon specials, the price is a dead giveaway. From what I've gathered, all of the cells come from one or two manufacturers, and the cells are all graded. The premium brands get the best performing cells, and the rest get sold to bargain brand Chinese companies destined for Amazon. Better brands will take more care assembling the cells into packs as well, and use higher quality components.

It's like anything else. You pay for quality.

I think Chinese batteries aren't cheap anymore these days, depending on where you live, so price doesn't say all.

In Europe SMC's or ONYX are super expensive(and hard to get). I can get 3-4 CNHL's for the price of a single SMC. Gens Açe is slightly cheaper but i can certainly still get 2 CNHL's for that price. With speedrunning i've tested so many different brands to their limit (as batteries kinda are the bottleneck) and cnhl(G+/black/racing models) never disappointed me. My stance is buy cnhl unless

I have the same ones that I use in my Infraction 3S and Kraton 6S Exb. But the issue with these is that they will not fit in other RC's, like the Losi Super Lasernut or SBR 2.0, wich I am interested in.

So now if I would get one of those two, I would have to get new batteries. It's better to get sub 140mm batteries to begin with. Like Cnhl hard case Racing Series. The black and orange ones.

Even the likes of the new 223S RC's seem to have the max 140mm trays. So this size batteries would fit even in the 223S range.

Good point. These batteries are longer then what most rc cars can take.
