Saw this vid on Facebook. Never, ever charge your packs unattended. Be within arms reach fellers. And also remember, these rigs are expensive, don't cheap out on batteries. It's not worth the risk.

I leave mine on charge and go out sometimes
Same. Usually I store/charge in a detached garage/barn, but with temperatures below freezing I store and charge in the house during winter. Not advocating, but in over 10 years I’ve yet to see a battery or charger failure that resulted in fire.

Is there a story or article in the link? All I see is a UDR group, no posts.
Crap. It's a private group.
Basically this dude was charging his Turnigy batteries in his garage unattended, and one went thermal and nearly burned his house down.

Sad. I know it's wise to keep an eye on these things and don't mean to come off as a cowboy. Just sharing my own experiences. I guess I'm not as patient as I should be, sitting and watching batteries charge just ain't happening for me. Like I said, I've been using Lipo batteries for at least 10 years. I've watched videos of fires that started mysteriously, as well as videos of folks intentionally overcharging lipo's for demonstration purposes. These things have to be severely overcharged before they catch fire.

I leave mine on charge in the room and go out :)

I am only joking :D but I have done it once or twice but only gone out for 5 minutes with them on storage mode

I've basically done all the "don'ts".. I've been pretty reckless, and lucky. TBH, I do have one little lipo bag that my 30 year old daughter gifted me for Xmas a couple years ago. I couldn't even say where it is ATM sadly. It might fit 5 or 6 of the 30 or so lipo's I own. I don't believe for a second that a Chinese made lipo bag w/plastic zippers is fire proof.
At the beginning of winter I brought in all my "good" lipo batts and placed them in the sealed hopper of my pellet stove, which we don't use. As time has passed I've taken batteries out of the hopper to use and they have now been stock piled on a desk in the "makers" room.. I'm so lazy. I'm going to put them away when I get home tonight! AND stop leaving them on charge unattended. That is the most likely time to have an issue it seems.

Well, from a technical standpoint, these batteries have a lot of failure points. The balance leads aren't incredibly stout, or protected. Shorted balance leads can cause an event, and can be hard to see, especially if the damage is inside a hard pack case. It's crucial to inspect the batteries every run, especially if you bash hard.

I once made a mistake building a TC truggy. The screw coming up from the bottom holding the battery tray down was just a hair too long, barely noticable, but damaged one of my soft packs. It happens. I was lucky and broke the truck 5 mins in, and it didn't cut too deep. I was at a skate park, and a couple more hard landings, and who knows what could have happened?

I've not had a lipo go up but I've had plenty ESCs go up in flames I do check the lipos after a run though for damage (y)

Agreed. I’ve had balance leads get severed a few times. Thankfully no fires ensued.
Too funny about the TC, I have 2 6s soft packs, each with a dimple in them from the exact same scenario. Though I’m pretty sure it was my doing and not TC. I put a screw in that was too long but didn’t realize it till I noticed the dimple. 😬 Disaster averted I guess. I just swapped out the screw for a shorter one. Still using those batteries, Zeee 5.2 100c. Good batteries IMO. I’ve had bad experiences with their hard case, so don’t buy those anymore.
I’ve got mixed feelings about the TC Kronos, overall it’s good, I never had a battery strap let go which seems common. The drivetrain is solid with the exception of the center diff being offset too much. Causes the front center driveshaft to wear too quickly, diff cups too. I feel like the TC rigs aren’t as well refined as Arrma or TRX. Yet anyway.

team corally kronos is a good car the diffs are really good think they got the gearing wrong on it thought its too fast on 6s even with a 12t pinion on the motor the shocks are a bit crappy also but like you said arrma is deffo better

Agree, good rigs, just don’t hold up to hard bashing as well. Has served me well for what I do.

I've had the older designs, and now have an Asuga and a Kagama. The new rigs look the same, but have some subtle changes that have really impressed me. I love my Kagama. It's a total beast. I think the Arrma rigs are a bit tougher still, but the Kagama handles so much better. It's a tradeoff I guess.
