For convenience purposes, I’m looking to pickup a few single brick 6s lipos. Anyone know the K6s V5 battery tray dimensions? I did a search and looked through online manual but didn’t see anything for the 6s. I was looking at some Hoovo 8000mah 6s packs. To big?

HOOVO 6S 22.2V LiPo Battery 8000mAh 100C RC LiPo Batteries Metal Plates with EC5 Plug Compatible with Traxxas UDR RC Car Boat Buggy Truck Tank Racing Hobby(2 Pack) https://a.co/d/fLdeQia

Also, what are your thoughts regarding soft vs hard lips case? I rarely jump the Kraton due to its weight (I leave the jumps to my son and his BR). I normal just run it fast through dirt or grass. Occasionally, on pavement. Happy Holidays Forum! 🎄

Hoovo are low quality lately, they used to be good ~ 1 year ago. Stay away or be prepared to buy others rather soon.

Suggest to stick with softcase, at least you can see any damage. Only had bad luck with hard case.

Anything sold on Amazon I'd avoid like the plague, they have all turned to overrated piles of :poop:
With that said, they are truly hit or miss on advertised capacity, you might get lucky but 90% of the time you will get the bottom of the barrel.

Didn't @Hector_Fisher recently get in 2 different sets of Hoovo's that were crap?

Just read one of those Hoovo Amazon reviews. 'Ran truck for 1h '
No, even with the simplest math 6000mAh = 6A for 1 h. What frigging ESC/motor is rated at 6A that needs a 6S Lipo?
Actually since you only use 70% rated capacity it's more a 4A load, my cooling fans draw more than that :ROFLMAO:

Oh, I thought Hoovo’s were decent. Any brand specific as the “go to”? Spektrum smart feats are nice but they’re expensive and I read they over rate their specs.

I'm glad I saw this. I have two 3s and two 6s Hoovos that I bought almost exactly a year ago and they have been great. I probably would have bought more. What other budget friendly brands would you recommend?

Guess I should’ve read the reviews more thoroughly. Screw them one then

Budget is very misleading. Due to the material shortage, you get crap or decent performance.
No more budget unless you luck out at CNHL - stay above 60C rated ones from them.

In no particular order. All these I'd recommend. SMC is not very good for bashing i.e. hard landings, but they are my top performers.
Stay above 60C for all of them and check dimensions, length doesn't matter must +10mm is fine.

https://gensacearespammers.com/ - search for g en s ace with no spaces, forum doesn't like this name for good reason. They used to advertise heavily but they are good lipos.

Just one set. But both lipos were consistently very poor.

If you're going to get hoovo and want performance, I'd only recommend the 120c option, and like @jkflow stated, I'd ONLY get the old style packs that look like this:

I've had a huge string of very poor batteries that I've gotten recently. All from Amazon. Even from forum recommended brands. I'm a little burnt out from Amazon lipos right now. Almost feels like they are trying to clear out old/crappy inventory during this holiday season.

Darn… 5mm to long

Hoovo 6s 8000mah dimensions: 163*45.5*63.5mm
I don't think length is an issue in a 6s tray, especially in a Kraton. I have two different sets of 6s bricks that hang way off the tray. I just add a small piece of Neoprene, about a half inch thick, under the area that hangs off the tray. My CNHL 9500's and Genss Ace 6800's are both way longer than the tray. The Neoprene just gives support if you have a really hard landing.

Thanks for the info. I’m going to stay clear of Amazon sold batteries and stick with vendor specific websites.
