Get a 4mm tap and bit for the tap, then drill it out, retap for 4mm, then use a 4mm bit to drill out the top plate and use a 4mm bolt.

M2C did that on their front brace. They include a bit to drill out the top plate to use it.

Correct response! If it breaks again get the m2c brace and make sure it's set at 4 mm?
