hi! ive been using the tamiya thread lock on my 3s typhon 17mm hubs and have tire come right off after speed runs, this stuff is crap, what is the best to use???

The only time I lose my wheels when the hub and wheel nut aren't still attached is when my hex slot on the wheel is rounded out. You should check and make sure the hex slot in your wheels is in good shape and the wheel nuts go on with the ridges facing in. You shouldn't need thread lock to keep your wheels on. There's something wrong or damaged with your setup.

10mm offset hexes the screw inside always comes loose with going 67mph. virbration, tamiya stuff crap, so this is the best locktite? the screw inside 17mm hex offset comes loose!

I think I understand your setup. My Slash has 17mm hexes that use a screw/nut to hold them in place. Thread lock only works when there's no contamination of any kind. I would try cleaning and degreasing everything and re-thread locking it. I also would recommend oil resistant blue Loctite brand thread lock.

What brand are your 17mm hubs?

UpGrade RC makes offset 17mm hubs that fit 3s Arrmas. They use a threaded cross pin that fits in the existing cross pin hole to hold them in place. I found these at Amain, this might be your solution.

who makes the best metal drive shaft cvd's for 3s line using 17mm hex adapters????

I bet the issue isn't the set screw backing off, but rather tip and contact point wear from the movement cycles the shaft coupler is subject to. You could put sleeve retainer on it to fix it in place as one option. Here's an application chart for thread lock compounds for future reference.

And no post would be complete without a suitable meme.
