Senton Best way to widen 3S Senton?

Basically the Senton is a nice car that needs a bit more stability on corners. Especially on pavement. So I'm thinking about widening both our Senton but staying with 14mm hexes. What is the best way to do this?

Is it best to go with Typhon 3s arms & tie rods and the rest (stub axles, hub, hex etc.) stays same? I want to keep using the existing shocks. Will obviously cut the body to accomodate the wider stance.
 
I think it will improve the handling a lot. Just raced my son around a huge circle against the Typhon 3s. Senton 3s just keeps going on two wheels with Uphill tires on pavement. Bandito / Rocket tire in summer on pavement are just about undriveable as the car will always lift one side. I think with the smaller 1/10 tires it would be a match for the Typhon again.
 
I had the Senton first and then gf bought a Typhon. Liked the way her Typhon handled so much I converted mine to one. Excited to see how much more stable the Senton will be with the longer arms.

SCT's normally drive the way you don't like it to. Is what it is.
Modding anything to suit your driving style or making it easier to bash is subjective.
Having fun is all that matters.

It drove fine on pavement with the stock tires. But they only lasted like 3-4 lipos. The stock tires slid nicely sideway. I just have not found any tires that have less grip so it's fun on pavement. Uphills and Bandits just have too much grip sideways. Just takes too much fun out of driving.

Seem like I don't even have to cut the body.
 
If stability is what you're after, before going wider, i'de try lowering the car by using less preload on the shocks and also lowering the body as much as possible, and avoiding reinforcing the body too much which makes it heavier.

Also if your senton started as a Mega, make sure to change the springs to the brushless ones, which are stiffer.

Using wider arms ruin the SCT look in my opinion, also makes the car less durable due to the longer arms and when you cut the body it catches air at higher speeds make it less stable

Both of them are stock brushless. Checked the springs this afternoon and hoped I could remove a lot of preload rings. Nope. The Uphills and Rockets tires are good in winter. In summer too much grip. Nearly sold the Sentons end of last year and was wondering if I should do it now. Decided to give it a try with longer arms.

I personally think the stock body is a bit too wide in the rear anyway - compared to full size stadium trucks. Front could be tight. Will see if it ruins the look. Front preload of springs is full size pretty high on full size Stadium Truck and Senton in the front. So maybe just keeping it high in front will be enough instead of cutting the body.

I hope the front inner tire will still lift up when accelerating in a corner and the rear inner comes up when slowing down in a corner. That kind of makes the truck fun. Had that happening in winter. That's the kind of stability I want now in summer. With those tires now it would mostly just lift the whole side instead of only a single wheel. And beeing able to use Rocket / Bandito tires also makes it look more scale. Hope that works in summer too.

Anyway parts ordered for both Sentons. Had a full front and rear Typhon 3s suspension arrms and rod end for the turn buckle as spare here already in the 3s spare part box. (y)

Chassis/ Traction Rolling is normal for the Senton. Driver control should adapt to this inherent personality/trait of this RC.
All SCT's are this way to some extent. Yeah in the end its all about the tires.
I was able to dial out much of the Traction rolling with my TLRT Typhon by adjusting the Rear Roll Center.
The rest is just driving technique.
 
I always suggest driving on 2s and turning your steering dual rate down. It’s fun on 3s and max controls…until you realize it’s just a psycho and uncontrollable. Cl
 
Here the wide Sentons:
When under throttle in a corner the front inner wheel lifts. When braking in corner the rear inner wheel lifts. They still do tip over but it's really a lot more predictable.

Were racing around a huge circle. One of those where trucks can turn nicely in an industrial area. About 30 meter diameter. Can't go full power as they would flip but it's a nice mix of lifting the front wheel until both inner wheels lift and then correct. Very nice racing close to each other. The big plus of the Sentons over the 3S Typhon is that you can touch each other without going into a huge crash. Braking and rear wheel lifts. The open wheels of the 3s Typhons just make them jump over each other. Also the 3S Typhon tends to massively understeer when at speed in corners so you have to go off the throttle to get more curving. The Sentons 3s don't have that front understeering like the Typhon 3s.

Had huge fun. The Rocket / Bandito tires for winter when the road is less grippy.
Widening the 3s Sentons has really increased the fun. I the rear nothing had to be cut off the body, in front a bit. Drives more like a Stadium truck now, more planted. Can actually lift the wheels without nearly instantly going over into a flip.

Sidemark: glassing from the inside really strengthens. See right red Senton. Popped out the body without a problem.
