Hi I have just replaced the spur gear but the wheels are not going round smoothly ?

I wonder if I should check to see if there is any damage to the diff also ?

The motor shaft is not bent and it runs find when not connected up.

Help

Simon

Sounds like your mesh is off from the spur to the pinion. When the power module is disconnected do the rear wheels spin without issue? If so, it not the diff. The Arrma metal spur takes 4 slipper pads, composite takes 3. Is it possible you mixed up a mod1 pinion with a mod.08 spur?

Here is another vid after I adjusted the mesh no better ..
The back wheels move round perfectly with power mod disconnected

This shows the root of problem ..

If you watch the video closely the gears appear to bind up every so often..

I would guess a bearing is seizing and breaking free. Start with the ones on both sides of the spur and see if the gear will spin smooth while you’re holding the bearitha

Thanks for reply..

The spur gear came as a 1 x piece presumably with bearing etc already inside..

I have had the same type of problems before as well. It is usually a bearing. But, I have had my brushless motor bearing inside also blow and that causes grinding and binding. Or my motor filled up with some nasty gunk. I took my Typhon apart and replaced the bearings with nice long lasting ceramic ones. I also was able to replace my motor bearing.

If you snap the power module case shut and spit up everything does it still bind?

The reason I say this is because the slipper shaft can move around when just one bearing is holding it in. So it could be binding because there isn't two bearings holding the slipper in place. This is part of the reason why it is recommended to check mesh with the case snapped shut and not open.

Maybe I should check the motor bearing then .. It can only.be something In the front as I have disconnected the center drive shaft .. we should be able to sort this out I hope ?

That may be the problem. Do you have the blx100 3s system? Those actually commonly have that problem. Are you using the stock slipper clutch assembly not meaning the spur gear?

Am I the only one who doesn't hear any sound?

Something definately not right with the spur / slipper you are using. Those spur teeth look very tall are those a mod1 pinion with a mod1 spur? Just a recommendation stick with the Arrma gearing or a highly reputable aftermarket. There is alot of garbage parts out there that look attractive for the price. Almost looks like it's off balance on the spur or slipper assembly. If it was me I would just let it rip as see how far I can get. Maybe they will wear themselves in a little.

If you can I would return that slipper assembly and on Jennysrc get the kraton 4s one that is steel. It is great quality.

Here is another video with the sound working !

I can't believe it could possibly be the blx100 again.. this is only 2 months old I don't think ebay would cover it so maybe gonna have to buy another 1! Does any ni if an upgrade to the blx100 ?

Yeah that doesn't sound good at all. As far as an upgrade from the BLX100 this works well unfortunately I can't find any in stock in the US at the moment only via slow boat :( https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256804655516251.html?spm=a2g0o.store_pc_groupList.8148356.6.fa133168dk5m3P&pdp_npi=2@dis!USD!US $43.59!US $43.59!!!!!@2101e9cf16828031750821570e4894!12000030703690455!sh&gatewayAdapt=glo2usa&_randl_shipto=US

These are my general go-to.

They aren't labeled "waterproof", but i've run mine in wet several times with no issues. Otherwise, the cheapo 25 and 35kg amazon servos work well.
