BLX 4074 motor SEIZED, broken, dead

Check out the pics. Only few mins into a night run with my son and bam motor seized up. We were both pretty bummed especially after trying to sneak in a night run on some rare January warm weather. What to do now? Get another blx or put the money towards something better? We like to fly so wanna keep weight down.

Btw only change was fresh diff oil and shims 20/500/50. Shortly after pinion shattered in 10mins, replaced it, then motor busts in 5mins.

I'd contact Horizon for warranty.

I wonder if when the pinion went it flexed the motor shaft and drove the magnet into the stator wall cracking it. Then when you spooled it up after replacing the pinion, the magnet just let go completely.

Pretty harsh carnage either way.

I had one throw a magnet at pretty good speed. Broke teeth off the front and rear diff pinions.

Darn, that sux, guess I got lucky! what do you recommend, stick with another BLX or try something better?
