  1. 4x4-Mega
One of the big suggestions when putting brushless power in a 4x4 Mega is upgrading the slipper assembly to the BLX version. I have a Granite Mega with upgraded electronics and was also looking at doing this. After looking at the exploded views for each part, it just looks like the big difference is the shape of the slipper pads.

To those who have actually done this, or who know anyways, what else is different? I have the 3s version of the Granite, would dropping the $45 for a whole new assembly actually be worth it?

Thanks

Mega only has one slipper pad, no centre bearing, held together with plastic nut/spring, pita to assemble and disaasemble because of the annoying pin... 3s has 3 pads, bearing, held together (and tightened and loosened) by a screw... those are the key differences.

Worth every penny if going brushless IMO but remember to factor in the price of changing pinion too as the mega gears are 48dp not 32dp/0.8 mod.

This may nOt be true for the new mega kits which i think got an upgraded slipper.

I got my mega last year and it has/had two pads. Been running 3s for 9 months or so.

I just bought a granite mega 3 weeks ago, and thought I could just change the spur and pinion... the slipper clutch for the mega is definitely different, the new spur has a much wider center hole, I’m guessing for the aforementioned bearing.

Yeah dude - I responded in your thread, you deffos have the old 48dp slipper assembly in yours. The red locknut is the giveaway.

If I buy the slipper to go in my V3 Mega, will the red slipper shaft fit the .08 slipper?

Is that the only part I will need? Looks like there is a Ara311033 shown in the diagram too? Some guys are talking about cutting the Mega shaft, but I don't know what they mean?
That's the slipper clutch maintenance set. Fine if you are building a 3s slipper from scratch but by "the slipper" I presumed you meant you were going to buy the whole 3s slipper clutch assembly?
