The pinion on my Talion moves off center and pulls out of place. Do I need a new one or is something missing?

Remove pinion, clean all with a good solvent, ( brake cleaner spray works) grub screw, motor shaft and Pinion. Use Blue thread locker on the grub screw threads. Allow to cure for 24 hours before running it. Very important. Or it will just loosen up again. I see some rust there. Clean well and don't run in the wet if you can. I don't. Rust can get the best of your grubs screw and motor bearings.
If you are using poor quality kit L hex wrenches you are not getting good leverage and enough torque to tighten the grub screw. And perhaps the grub screw is worn out also. These are consumable parts anyway at some point.
