Plus it just looks cool lololol

This is working really well, after dozens of wing hits nothing has broken, but the rods were getting rather bent so I replaced them - just plain stainless steel M4 threaded rod.

I've been running this for some time now, nothing has broken but the metal rods do keep getting bent

So I've decided to try some nylon ones, these are cut from nylon rod - I'll report back in a few weeks once they've seen some action

The nylon66 ones were working really well, no breakage, no bending. So I've had some made up properly in 8mm and 10mm diameters in SLS printed nylon12 to test out. Various versions to allow for wing mount to be high/low or not.

The 8mm diameter option broke on a wing landing plus tumble from about 10ft high - broke across the sides of the hole at the top - the obvious weakest point.
The 10mm which is more that twice as strong at the point has been fitted and thus far has stood up to my terrible landings (although the wing itself is definitely getting to end of life). It is an easy point to increase the strength in the design.

I also made my wingmount bullet proof by fitting a POS wingmount. Bolts to the rear tower's absolutely fabulous bit of kit

Quick update - I managed to break the 10mm ones too - a failed front flip resulted in 45deg wing down ploughing into the ground that was just soft enough for the wing to dig in rather than slide - probably about the worst hit you can get for the wing. So I've tweaked the design and found somewhere that can print PA11 rather than PA12 which should be far less brittle - see how those go when they arrive later in the week.

Got the idea from FB, on the Arrma Tips & Tricks page.
94mm Traxxas 2338 turnbuckles...some decent thickness washers, and 20mm button head screws.
Insane how much this firms up the wing mount...tail landing are a little less scary now, we'll see how she holds up!!

pretty cool, i just remove my rear wing, with wheelie bar, and use a wing mount i bought earlier that broke and run with the rear rpm bumper when doing jumps. i actually have a rear wing mount and wheelie ready to attach in the field if im running on flat grass, asphalt or dirt

New MJF printed Nylon PA11 (un-dyed this time) structs arrived for testing today, PA11 certainly seems far more flexible and durable than PA12 to feel, time will tell how they fair in reality.
I've also redesigned them it fit into the recess in the hinge pin retainer so less load is taken on the bolt and more in just compression through the hinge pin retainer and onto the chassis.
