Any one have suggestions for a new bumper? I’ve been running it stock with Nimh packs with my son. Have a brushless setup on the way with 2s lipos, so I expect I will need something beefier because of all the rocks out here in the desert.

Thanks! Their bumpers look great, been away from this hobby for almost 20 years.

T-Bone Racing would be my recommendation as well. I've used them on several of my RC's and they have taken the punishment right on the chin with no complaints from me.

I have the tbone front bumper as the stock one broke when I went brushless. Works great and can really take a beating. I wish they offered one that would protect the A Arms, I snapped a few of those when I went brushless.

Looks good, just waiting for the bumper and brushless setup to get here. Burnt the stock motor running Nimh packs, my kid doesn’t believe in throttle control.

Installed the Duratrax 3900kv element system and have my lipos charging. This setup will end up in my old nitro rustler once the input diff and spur are upgraded to handle a castle system with 3s.

Hit a rock going full throttle and did some sweet backflips. Bumper saved the car.

I was wondering if anyone has ran into an issue where the pins located at the front bumper plate coming out, it seems as if the “guard” to keep them in place is too short and there may come a time after a bash that these pins may come out.

I have already purchased the TBone bumper and will install it this weekend. Just wanted to see if anyone has ran into this issue.

You mean like this.. yeah TBone if your reading this you should make that piece longer.

I kinda figured this would happen, wonder if I email them if they would create a longer piece there. Seems like a simple fix to a big oversight on their end.

Anyone else see this thread I would like to see how one can possibly fix this issue.

Thanks again!

Haha funny you mentioned that coz I just emailed them and attached pics.

Lets see what they say

I managed to snap that little bar today along with my diff input lol.

In the meantime I think ill put a spot of hot glue there to keep it from coming out again. Geez hot glue is becoming my go to for quick fixes on this truck ..

OH snap i snapped mine yesterday, did the megastys upgrade and its all good now, good thing my LHS had all the parts. Now what I need is a wheelie bar as the sidewinder 4 is tearing up my body from constant flips from a stand still or moving. Maybe you can make an aluminum one that is longer. From my understanding T Bone has a lifetime warranty on these bumpers, to what extent their coverage covers... not sure. but how can they warranty a part that takes the most bashing hits and offer a lifetime warranty? email them and let us know. For those that aren't going the T bone route I suggest solid filling that space between the bumper and the dif casing so if you do take a hit there it wont snap the bumper below the hinge.maybe put straws in there so you have a hole to absorb some of the shock. I did that and it was great till the bottom of the skid plate started falling apart.

Think I’m going to salvage the original part of the bumper that covered that plate and sand down the bar. That way the original part can fit better and provide more protection.

Here is what I received back from TBR regarding their manufacturing process.

I’m going to try to get a free replacement and will let everyone know how it goes.

This is what I received back from TBR, not exactly a solid “yes” but good enough to think that they will take care of the early adopters of this bumper and make it right.

Not sure how long it will take them to release a V2 but I guess now all we can do is wait.
