Hi,

Drove 45 min to take the Kraton out for spin and when I got there it had no throttle. Steering was fine but it wouldn't move.

Tried the usual calibration and rebinding but after 20 minutes gave up and came home.

Took a few things apart to give it a closer inspection and noticed the wire from the ESC to the RX had been pinched and now looks like this (see picture). You can see where its been jambed against the ESC.

Can this be fixed? How would you do it.

There is only about 1 cm of good wire left coming out of the ESC. I've done a bit of soldering but this is too much for me.

Ahhhhh!!!. This would be an annoying thing to have to get a new ESC for.

Thanks,

Simon

Alright. So rather than patching in some new wire, I'll cut through all three.

It does look like the positive wire sheath has also been damaged so it wouldn't hurt to do that one also.

Pretty sure it still works because it worked for about 5 seconds when I was taking it apart. Must have bent the wire allowing the two ends to make contact.

I'll make a visit to the local electronics store tomorrow to get some small heat shrink and let you know how I go.

Thanks.

You can splice a piece of wire in, but only if you have good quality wire. If you use wire with the same sheathing, with that short length, you'll likely just melt and burn it. You could just run a longer piece of shrink tubing.

Success at least so far. Cut all three wires and rejoined them and everything is working.

Put a double layer of heat shrink, single over each wire and another one over all three.

Now to send it and see if its still works after it lands.

Thanks everyone for the help.
