Can someone explain to me how the "quote" button works??

I don't fully understand how quote works. How to use it and when? Reply is self explanatory but for whatever reason I can't seem to figure out when is the right time or scenario to use quote. I must admit that I'm kinda new to using a forum format..8 months. Used one for music in the past but never engaged much. Thanks!

When you want to quote multiple people. I think. I never use it. Let’s test it out.

I don't really know much either, I just click the "Report" button every time I read a post to let them know I read the report.

Got it. If you are responding to multiple comments use that. Then in the menu above click the quotation mark and respond to each comment. I learned something today!!

Yup. See it worked. Mystery solved.
And I should have been more specific but I was learning also. It’s below where you type the text. Once you add quotes an “insert quote” button pops up. I’m internetting good today!!

Yup. But insert text in between quotes if you want to respond to each person separately in the same post.

You can customize notifications so they don't drive you crazy. The more I use the forum the more I have to do this.
