Castle 1717 Motor Fan Mount

Finally found a solution to a fan mount for my Castle 1717 can. I'm still undecided whether I would want to put on a couple of Rocket 40mm fans or try the 40x40x28mm server fans. Meanwhile, I'm just running the fans that came with the mount which are doing their jobs especially in this Fall/Winter weather.

That looks very nice. What is that blue wrap inside the motor mount? Did you use a thermal pad there?

Probably more of an anti-rotation aid. With the ribs there isn't a lot of contact are for the clamp, so I'd guess just a piece of rubber like pad to keep the thing from vibrating loose.

It’s thermal tape for a snug fit.

How good are these fans? Should I order better fans?

Just ordered this set due to the motor mount..

They are okay, and seem to be a bit better than cheap 40mm ones. I'm planning to upgrade them to the Rocket 40mm aluminum fans though. Just haven't been able to run it in this cold and wet weather here in Canada yet!
