first time opening up center diff on new kraton 6s v5. not sure what to look for? but the grease oil in it appears super thick and tacky and not full?
help?

It's high viscosity silicone oil so it should appear thick and tacky. Being under filled from the factory is common. You should get some 100k cSt oil like this and top it up to the level shown in the manual that came with the truck. Page 23 IIRC.

ok should i remove the gears and clean it all out or just top it off?

How much have you ran it and what does the oil look like? If it's been at least 10 batteries worth of run time or if the oil is very darkened I would clean it and replace the oil. If it's still close to new I'd just top it up.

ive run like 6 batteries through it but it does look bad and dark

what do you recommend to clean the gears and inside housing with?

just put new oil in while its out will take ten minutes (y)

I use naphtha for diff cleaning. Can be bought at big box and hardware stores as camping fuel. Soaking the parts for about 10 minutes cleans them well enough. Similar solvents like kerosene and lacquer thinner will also work, but take longer to evaporate. Avoid soaking the o-ring seals and the gasket.
