  1. I agree with you. I was very close to building 2 server psu's in series. But I found this Raceway quad Psu at 400w 24v psu for an easy $50. 400w worked for me with the 2 channel Hobbymate charger. This Hobbymate D6 Duo can handle 650W in DC. As long as the wattage math adds up and gets me 2 packs in 1 hour , I'm good. And I always charge at 1C. More watts is always good. But most important is that you charge with 24V+. And I don't see my future lipos being larger than than the 6s 7200 packs I have now. I run my two Armas for 20-30min with these packs. Ive seen crazy large 12,000maH lipos. And crazy $expensive$ too. 2 packs will cost the price of a new Notorious. We all have our own requirments.

It's been a great day, my reaktors arrived, charging at 10a per pack is a joy.

My lipo collection for my RC collection is growing fast.

Looking forward to the htrc c240 to arrive to finish my charging station.

Actually, I emailed Danny at smc, he recommended 2c-5c charge rated. Also, seems the paper that came with my 'true spec' packs listed 2c charge rate.

Also, 1c= 1 hour, if the pack is at 0%. So from lvc, you need 4c for a 15 minute charge - which is 20a for a 5000mah pack.
Yeah, I commented that I chooched the math.

I could have swore they had on their site that the recommended 1C charge rate. Thanks for the correction! I went back through my emails and I had asked a couple years ago, he also said 2C is safe. That was for their factory spec 9000mah 60C 2S2P packs. Which is good to know. Now I can crank up the amps on my big charger that I charge the 3S packs on. I run my other at it's max of 4x10A when charging my 2S packs.

Yea- those are high powered for the price point- on 24v-30v.

For example for $99, the GT1000 specs- 1000W @ +30VDC input voltage, 408W @ +12VDC input voltage

For $6 more, the GT1200 specs- 1200W @ +24VDC input voltage, 600W @ +12VDC input voltage

All the guys buying the cheap 12v converted computer power supplies may be really limiting themselves because of voltage (or amperage, or wattage too)...or worse a combination.

That GT1200 kicks ass for $106- if fed by a roughly $200 power supply...

Yeah, so that's the downside of course. I messed with PC PSUs for a while and ended up just getting a Venom 1350 watt pro power and I run my GT500Duo and my Racers Edge 4 channel 200 watt charger. I can charge 2- 6S batteries at 20Amps and 4 - 3S batteries at 5 amps, at the same time. Power supply doesn't even break a sweat.

Nice setup!
You charge them on wood without protection or was this setup for the picture?

I've never "protected" my charging surface and charge on wood all the time.
To me those are scare tactics to sell products. You should be monitoring your packs while they charge, I've had a handful of well used hard packs pop during charging and you just unplug them and throw them outside as soon as it happens.

Protection is needed because people don't want to monitor their packs while they charge.

Ah ok, good to see you are careful!
I am one of those people ;) don't have the time for it, i'm happy with my batsafes.

Bit late but Here’s my main charger, charging at 25v
