Kraton Cheap shock standoff idea

Cheap hardware store m4 bolt with two lock nuts.
Simply drill out the shock tower and install.
I cut off a bit of the plastic cap for easier access to the nut.
I'll let you know how it holds up, but this looks like a good, inexpensive alternative.

In my experience hardware store hardware such as that tends to be very hit or miss on the hardening/ quality.

Cheap Chinese screws.

You can order good quality screws online in small quantities, thats always and option.

I like seeing somebody think outside the box either way though.

Take it a step further & utilize M4, 12.9 grade socket head cap screws (30mm long) & 3d printed shock cap protectors & a nylock nut.

I don’t believe that cap is being very effective and that commercial grade 2 threaded rod won’t last. Basically, you’re going to be in a world of hurt with that setup.

I run the M2C and Hot Racing standoffs. Highly recommended.

Caps can be 3D printed. There are no shortage of quality designs out there.
