Painted the body up. Installed the engine. I’ll run a few tanks through this esp 34. But it’s getting a Taylor 71.

Mcd used their own style of clutch. Odd looking thing with fly weights. They call it pro bite. Costed in some kind of copper lubricant or anti seize. It has a stationary plate that locks into the clutch bell and the other part of the clutch rotated with the engine.

Nice! Takes me back to the Losi 5T days. That clutch is similar to the turtle racing snapper clutch....hooks up awesome with no clutch fade.

Agfrc reciever works perfect. I thought I’d give it a try. Easy to bind and a perfect duplicate of a futaba reciever. Like maybe they make them for futaba?

Linkages all set up. End points all done. On/Off switch installed. Dynamite kill switch and l.e.d installed.

First startup of the 71. Flawless. I wish everything I do went this good.

Decals to put on yet. Few small things. I’ll continue the break in.
Too bad it’s winter.

This entire build is a total feast for the eyes of any good gearhead. Kudos, dude. Everything is just mechanical beauty. Sounds awesome, too. Daaaaamn is miss the ring dings!

Wow!! Sweet build, look's like some high quality stuff. Call me crazy but I can't help but think how much easier, faster and more reliable one of these would be in electric.
Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of two stroke and cold smoke but I'd want it electric myself. Enjoy!!👌🍻

Just a beautiful piece of machinery! Your right, can't even compare to the Losi. Always ran zenoahs or cy motors. Not familiar with Taylor but sounds like a beast! Lots of alloy....wondering what she weighs.

It's a 10 outta 10 on the bling scale for sure!! I'm sure it's a fine piece of machinery indeed!!👍😃🤘

I’ll weigh it when it’s done. But it’s not going to be that heavy.
Thanks for the kind comments guys.

“Better” is always relative IMO.

But the main differences I think are the materials, and this is overlooked, but how quick and accessible it is to service/clean.

One more aspect I love about the MCD’s are the conversion kits. It’s one platform that can be changed to a buggy, on road rally car, short course truck like above, and a hypercar.

I like the idea of having the ability to convert the car into something complete different, and still knowing you have top quality build.
