Over in the UK the only readily available foams are Contact RC, I'm unsure what shore is best to go with for drag runs??
They come in 4 shore ratings, see below

Also for speed runs would you use a harder or softer foam vs drag runs??
 
For speed runs it sort of depends on what speeds you are talking about....
For speeds over 170mph it is best to go with the 40sh, but most of us only dream of going that fast and would be better served with something in the mid-range for the added grip.

FYI a comparison of shore values to BSRs color names. (speed runners run double pink through purple BSR foams)

Just never ever try to bash or drift with foams. They will chunk up quickly!

Maybe someone experienced like @jondilly1974 could advise on what shore is good for drag.

I would stay in the 30-35 shore range IMO
