So many nice paint jobs on here!! Working on coming up with a color scheme for mine right now. It’s all in the prep work!!!

Any videos or how-to write ups on how to rig the body mount polls for something like this on my Typhon? I see people using the 4 pin setup with rally cars or street car bodies and cant figure out how I would go about setting it up
@SwissTrees ... I'm using Senton 6s towers with Senton body mounts it's perfect for fitting truck or rally bodies..???

Might be the OCD in me, but I think the tread is backwards on the front left and rear right tires. And how are those tires holding up on 6S? I think I had the same ones at one point and my crappy glue job just ripped the rubber to shreds.

I finally got around too painting my body. I’ve got 3 more too do and this was only my 2nd time ever painting a body. Being pre-cut was nice. My next one is a pro-line Toyota Tacoma for my 6s senton. That should be fun. Possibly more to come. Colors 🎨 testors color shifter with bright silver & gun metal. 4-5 coats of the color shifter. Then peeled masks hit them with silver then gunmetal to back it also used black plasti dip to finish it all off on the inside.. I left the window clear in the front, finished her off with some stickers. Check out more pictures on my Typhon winter project build thread.

You did a great job, I just bought an Unbreakable body from Russia for my KRATON!!! 💪 💪 💪
Just ordered it yesterday since I go through bodies pretty quickly.

Wow! I just ordered one yesterday myself from Basherbodies on Facebook. Kraton stock body is just too flimsy.

I think you got a different one, b/c the buyer I got mine from is called probodyrc
It is a different company, but similar mold. It's 4mm thick. This is the one I'm getting, minus the blown motor sticking out of the hood

Thanks guys! Hope this tundra body comes out just as nice. Still deciding on a color scheme I really like the orange and black but I’m not sure yet. I’ll eventually come up with something. I also have a felony body I need to do as well! Oh and the Kraton body. You can never have enough bodies or wheels.! Put a 3s blx on my 6s senton. Looks great. Pulled the 4x4 sticker added a 6s. Nice basher body and I can keep the 2 stock bodies mint. I’ve got too many projects going on than I can keep track of sometimes.

Hi guys, totally new to this stuff. I just ordered a spare Typhon body off ebay. I plan on painting the outside. I know I need to scuff it, wash and dry the shell, etc. A few questions though.

Do I need primer? If so, does it need to be a special kind of primer?
Read mixed reports on Krylon Fusion. Anyone use that? Or stick with Tamiya?
If I don't add a clear coat (I'm considering a matte black finish), is that ok? Or should I top it off with a matte clear?

If your painting over an all ready painted shell, sand down the edges of any external paint or you will still see the pattern. If you use a gloss paint your decals will go down smoother then shoot your matte clear over top of everything, this also helps seal the edge of your decals. Just remember to shoot everything in several light coats.

There is no way around getting your paint dinged up when painting the outside, but skid plates can help minimize that.

I wouldn't paint the outside. Your just going to scratch it up first time you flip it..
Yeah, doesn't sound like there's any way around that, I guess -- I ordered a new shell off ebay, didn't realized factory shells are painted on the inside already.... Might just plastidip it then, and keep spraying it each time it gets ruined (I have many cans)

Thanks, it's a brand new factory painted shell that I'll be trying. No primer needed?

As long as you use paint made for rc like Tamiya polycrylic, or Duratrax, I think you will be fine.
Great, so no need for primer, just use a paint like what you listed and go straight at it?

The reason rc paint works well is it's designed to adhere to plastic bodies, and remain flexible so it doesn't crack and flake like regular spray paint. That doesn't make it bullet proof but it does give it an advantage. You are good to go without primer.
