First order of business was to dye all my grey chassis components black

Started taking apart my old diff. This is the GPN spiral cut gear that stripped real easily

There’s something satisfying about a fresh diff rebuild assembled in a new bulkhead with stainless screws. I decided not to shim the front pinion as I believe it does not need it, I will add 1 to the rear because from everything I have seen, that one has loose tolerances.

I’m going to reuse my 2085x servo for now, I’ll most likely go with a reefs triple 5 or a savox later down the line.

Are these parts a stock item or an aftermarket mod..?? and what do they do.??

Aftermarket. They are supposed to keep the drive cup intact. Or keep it from splitting. I’m running a 56113 and have never broke a stock drive cup. I have a set on my shelf and never found i needed them.

Nerf bars and battery hold downs put in

I grease my drive cups because these things squeak and drive me crazy, I’m sure it also helps with wear as well. I have Rovan axle boots to help keep the grease in and the drive cup sleeves keep the boots on without zip ties

I never realised how much plastic was on a Xmaxx ?? plastmaXX
I'll take an almost all plastic basher to a chassis bending and heavier vehicle that breaks more easily any day. Trust me I know what I'm talking about. I have both kinds of vehicles (plastic chassis vs metal chassis) and the plastic chassis ones break way less while doing dumb stuff, skate parks and bad landings.
