Diff question

Hi all, was cleaning my noto and my sons outcast when I noticed on all 4 differentials that the part where the axles/cvds fit into, on the differential is really loose and sloppy. I have done nothing to these diffs since we haven’t had any issues. Just wondering if this is normal or if I should start ordering parts. Any ideas or parts suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

@Gt rubicon, some slop in the differentials is "normal" but for best results not recommended.

This is why many people, including myself, recommend shimming your diffs. We've got a very useful thread that goes into more detail - How to shim your Arrma diff.

Thanks woodie, I ordered some Tekno shims, bearings and diff fluid. I’m gonna tear them down when my parts come in.

I have had a diff where the outdrive hole in the case wore out - it gave me a lot of play in the shaft...

I had another that the outdrive bearing froze, and the whole hole yoke broke off the diff. That one just seemed like a bit of play too, till I took it apart, and saw the diff broke in half...
