Where do they go?
Between the bearing and the diff housing to reduce the play between the infeed pinion and spur gear.

The only thing that is different between your front/rear diff and the center diff is the gear they stick on it and the fluid they put in it. Outdrives are the same throughout the vehicle.Okay.. Right.. But are those outdrives so much thicker than the ones on your centre diff?

The one side is smaller because it sits on the inner race of the bearing the other is 13x16 because it sits on the outer race of the bearing. Each shim does a different job. The inner shim is to remove any play in the outdrive the outer shim is to move the crown gear towards the pinion gear in the gearbox housing.What im not really getting;
The 5×7mm shims go on the shaft of the outdrive..
But there are also 13×16mm goin on there in front and rear diff..
Why are they that size? Cause it looks like they go on the same part as where the bearing sits.. Wich is 8×16.. So im thinkin the 13×16 is 5mm to large..? Right?
