Originally these terms, years back, meant 2 different things.
Going as far back when RTRs were not the norm, kits were still mostly around.
As of late it got watered down some, due to agressive marketting IMHO.
A slider was akin to most kits , kits that always required electrics, wheels and tires, body and happened to be assembled. Bare. Called a slider because there are no wheels. It wont roll. Slider's usually came with a Kit Style manual.
A Roller usually had everything accept electrics/radio. Is like a RTR, just needing only electrics/radio. These come with RTR manuals. Limited instructions. Little to no chassis assembly instructions.
When selling used RC rigs , a Roller is usually without electrics. ( not in running trim). All depends how the seller describes it. His choice,
Being a Roller vs Slider has become a loose way to describe RC's these days. Everyone has own sipn. So do the Brands.
Then there is "Bind and Drive/Fly". Another conversation.
