I was going to buy the T-bone and I do think that's the better option as what I did is just silly!
But I do like the final result

So I took an RPM bumper (Traxxas Slash 4x4 #80022), and started cutting and gluing to make it fit..
I Used PL Premium to glue the RPM to the stock bumper..

I put 3 screws in.. to make sure the bumper was solid.. wasn't sure about the PL being enough

When it's dry, I would test it by hand to see if it holds. PL is strong, but not sure if it's the right product for this type of job. I guess the worst that could happen is the RPM bumper snaps off, so no harm in trying.
 
I was thinking I may screw them together after the glue dries..
I thought the same thing. Make the holes as small as you can so the screws get a good bite.
