With global supply chains still a mess and good prefab mudguards for the EXB arms hard to come by I final found a dirt cheap source of what seems to be the ideal plastic for making rear mudguards. (And as a bonus I now have an excuse why I can't paint the house!) Strong enough to work, but not so strong it will break the arms at the bolt holes if it takes a hit.
At just over 10quid for 5 trays you can't go wrong. https://smile.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B08JHCMQX4
The worst of the mud has been knocked off in the pic - when I finished the run the mud was packed on and the arms behind nice and clean - definitely essential kit.
