Chunky or smooth?
Allways prefer a little on the chunky side 🤔 because after a few speed passes it becomes very smooth .👍 Also here is another great king Blitz tip
To keep your diffs from high temp .you can reduce its fever by adding some Tylenol 👍

That does not work as it should.

Fill your diffs with peanut butter? Do you grease the gears with grape jelly?

Noooo silly ..jelly is just for the center diff.😁👍. Everyone knows that

The idea of keeping the diffs cool has been a question that has plagued man since the dawn of time. I use Ice cubes, shredded of corse. And grape jelly, incase you get stranded. .That with the peanut butter and you should be good.

I've always liked strawberry preserves myself..

I do have an Xray XB8 EC, circa 2007. It is an amazing buggy, top notch quality for sure. I picked it up second hand since I would have never paid what they sell for new. However after experiencing it, I might actually buy one new if I had the scratch.

It’s true, there is a great wealth of knowledge here. I do like manuals though, and I’ve always wished Arrma would step up their game and actually provide a real build-style manual for their rigs. Without this forum I’d still be ignorant of many things that are missing from the factory “manuals.” They really suck. If you’re bored sometime you should check out the X-Ray manuals some time. They would blow your mind, man.
Even HPI and Team Associated have better rtr manuals than Arrma.

If its only filled 1/2 up, the fluid turns to foam reducing the viscosity. Can always up the starting wt to counter that I guess.
I fill mine to the top butight need to start partially
Are using frothy milk? Silicone oil does not foam but honestly I've never looked inside a diff while it's running.

People usually forget about the sun gear and overfill.

I agree, the Arrma manual is more like a user guide with a parts breakdown.. much like TRX and Redcat manuals. I was surprised when I bought the used Xray that the fellow I bought it from had all the literature the kit came with, manual, accessories catalogue, even the box it came in. The Xray manual is very descriptive, the only other manuals I've seen that come close are Tekno. I'm not the most experienced in rc's, there may very well be others such as Mugen, HB that are similar. But generally the rtr manuals tend to just be user guides in my experience.

I assemble my Arrma Open diffs exactly how Tekno does their 1/8 diffs. I have a Tekno MT.
It works.
I use Mugen Shims only. Not the Arma internal diff shims, I toss them right away. I can get easily 30-50 runs on my diffs this way. Your mileage will vary.
I always disassemble/reassemble new Arrma out the box diffs this way.
Arrma diffs are always low on oil anyway!!
Sadly, Arrma is very cheap about this.
