The pinnon gear still very loose, i tried to put two 8x12x.2 and the fit is perfect and after 1 pack i reopen my diff and the shim is completely trash ?

I ran a few diffs with the pinions shimmed and I didn't see any benefit over running without. I still murder ring gears on the reg.

Wanted to re-visit this topic -- I use the metal diff case in my Kraton 6s and I'm seeing evidence of very light contact between the case and the pinon. Makes me think I should remove the shim, although the play is significantly smaller with the shim. Curious if the trend today is to shim or not shim. Thanks, -hyp
