It was a long time coming and after a crash into a pole at about 35-40 and having some repairs to do this is where I began, replaced the lower front/rear suspension mount block and both front upper suspension arms were cracked and front right arm was snapped off, swapped all stock suspension arms to rpm arms.

I chose to use the pro-line chevy c10 long body because i really liked the look of other’s that ive seen finished and I was hesitant to start cutting into it but it wasnt so bad taking my time …

Of course it wouldnt be a perfect match for the xlwb 6s fireteam chassis but could definitely be modified a few ways.

At this point i still wasn’t sure exactly how i was going to get it mounted while keeping as much of the rear end of the body as i could. I didn’t want to cut off the whole back end/ rear wheel wells if i didn’t have to.

It also took me a long time to get the body mounts and posts correct. I put the stock FT rear ones on the inside of the shock tower, and used big rock 6s mounts and posts on the front.

After some cutting on the rear I got the body to slide down right over top of the rear posts, right in front of and up against the rear shock tower.
Got the 1/7 mojave 6s side guards installed and i was happy with how it sat…. Time for some sanding … continue below

Continued …

I did skip taking pics of a lot of steps here and there but here we have a dry painted body, believe i did 4-5 coats which came out fine for me as i plan on backing it with something dark in the future and also most likely tinting the windows in the future but even before doing that stuff im happy with how it came out

Looking good!
Its begging for some old school pinstripes.
Part of me wanted to do a design, the other part wanted to bring it outside. Lol im sure there will be more bodies for me in the future. I thought about a decal pinstripe in the future

Thing is a beast and i love the way it looks and after my first time doing it i gained some confidence to do more body stuff.
Still have to install the mojave mud guards though I’m not totally convinced i need them or how effective theyll be. Ive begun to stregthen the inside of the body.

Any tips on how i should tint the windows besides paint? I want them black

Doesn't need any decals ...it's great the way it is ...a few is ok but majority of people over do it .. maybe a Arrma double RR logo on the back window would look awesome..other than that a solid paint job looks clean.you did a nice job .👍 Definitely get your self a body reamer for your next cover but either way a drill works fine .

I have added some small stuff idk if its pictured. A proline logo sticker along the top rear window, small rpm decal on the side. And thank you

Black windows🤔best time would have been before you removed the protective film from the outside.alls you had to do was back the inside black ...you still can do it now but remember to mask off the outside .a black backer won't change the red by much if at all..if anything it will just make that red deeper and richer in depth..👍 I've backed a few solid white body covers with black and never changed the brightness of the white ..I also only use Tamiya paints so I cant speak much about the other brands .

Solid White does not change with a black backer so don't worry about your red ,it will only get richer and deeper ..
