It was a long time coming and after a crash into a pole at about 35-40 and having some repairs to do this is where I began, replaced the lower front/rear suspension mount block and both front upper suspension arms were cracked and front right arm was snapped off, swapped all stock suspension arms to rpm arms.
I chose to use the pro-line chevy c10 long body because i really liked the look of other’s that ive seen finished and I was hesitant to start cutting into it but it wasnt so bad taking my time …
Of course it wouldnt be a perfect match for the xlwb 6s fireteam chassis but could definitely be modified a few ways.
At this point i still wasn’t sure exactly how i was going to get it mounted while keeping as much of the rear end of the body as i could. I didn’t want to cut off the whole back end/ rear wheel wells if i didn’t have to.
It also took me a long time to get the body mounts and posts correct. I put the stock FT rear ones on the inside of the shock tower, and used big rock 6s mounts and posts on the front.
After some cutting on the rear I got the body to slide down right over top of the rear posts, right in front of and up against the rear shock tower.
Got the 1/7 mojave 6s side guards installed and i was happy with how it sat…. Time for some sanding … continue below
