I’m curious about performance and heat management from someone with that setup. Are you happy with it?

I’m about to find out. I bought a EXB with the beefcake kit and it had the MMX8S/1650kv (1520) in it. I’m going to start with a 19t pinion and 50t center. I’m going to run dual 40mm fans on the motor. I run the MMX8S with a 2200kv sensored in one of my other kratons with a 19/50t and we call it the crackhead because ain’t no one catching it! I put road tires in it and hit 74mph, last pictures the MMX8S/2200kv setup.

I had the 1520 and MMX8S in my Mojave. It runs fine and is a lot more powerful than the stock motor.
However since i usually run it on the beach, the Mojave collects wet and sticky sand in the wheels, which is why it got too heavy and fried the motor.
I solved that by replacing it with the more powerful Hobbywing 4985 motor. No problems with a 22t pinion, whether 3S, 4S or 6S.

Your rigs are so clean

When a system is plenty powerful, you won't have heat issues, unless you still push it to the max.

the fan motor setup is $29.99 on bay snd the ESC fan/covers another $29 so $60 for all.I run them at 7.4v I’ve had sets for years figure for that price if I get 2 years out of the fans it worth it fans are cheap.

I put one in my 3s typhon that's heavily modified, 1520/1650 with a max 6 and it works awesome. I run 4 or 6s on it.
