Talion Does the Talion ESC/Motor overheat using 6S? And it reaches 70mph+ out of box (stock tires)?

Hello, I would like to know if the ESC and Motor can take 6S without problem using the stock gear mesh or the optional speed (that they said included in the box)? Also, the 70mph can be reached using stock tires?

Thanks!

Should have no problems with over heating on 6S. Watched some vids showing the motor runs around 140 degrees after 15-20 mins. Anything under 160 is fine. You will need to change to the 20 tooth pinion to get to 70mph though. The stock 13 tooth won’t do 70

Thanks for the answer, the 20 tooth pinion comes included in the car, right? And also, could you recommend a good onroad tire to use? I hear people recommending Proline a lot, but I only know Badlands and Shockwave (I think both are for mix off/on road, right?)

Yes, the 20T pinion is included with the car. The stock pinion installed on the Talion is 13T. Also yes, the Talion will do 70mph with the included 20T pinion using the stock tires. However, Arrma recommends "ONLY" using the 20T speed pinion for speed runs and not extended every day bashing. Keep in mind, the stock Arrma pinions are not good quality and wear out quickly. I would recommend a 16T-18T Tekno or Robinson Racing pinion if you plan on bashing. This should also offer excellent speed. Always use a temp gun to keep an eye on temps when changing to a larger pinion.

Badlands have great traction with the moto-x tread pattern. They can be used for any type of terrain, but if constantly on pavement, it will wear out the tread quicker.

Can you point to a specific part for each manufacturer?
I'm not sure what size pinion you are looking for, but here's some links:

TEKNO 18T PINION (this is what I will use in my Talion speed truggy:
https://www.amainhobbies.com/tekno-...-gear-w-5mm-bore-18t-tkr4178/p454501?v=211312

TEKNO 16T PINION (Good for all round bashing. Should be safe for battery temps. This is what I will use in my Kraton):
https://www.amainhobbies.com/tekno-...-gear-w-5mm-bore-16t-tkr4176/p454501?v=211310

NOTE: Always use a temp gun to keep an eye on motor/ESC/battery temps when going to a larger pinion.

3.8" Pro-line Badlands pre-mounted on Desperado wheels:
https://www.amainhobbies.com/prolin...-wheel-2-black-m2-pro1178-11/p387123?v=217639

3.8" Badlands (not mounted-need to be glued to rims) This is what I have for my Talion:
https://www.amainhobbies.com/prolin...-truck-tires-2-m2-pro1178-00/p387158?v=205632

DE Racing Speedline Plus 4.0" truggy wheel. This is what I have to mount my Badland tires on, and they are extremely light, at only 58g per wheel:
https://www.amainhobbies.com/de-racing-speedline-plus-1-8-truggy-wheel-4-black-der-pt4-8b/p705686

I also recommend an RPM rear skid plate for under chassis protection (total weight increase is only 12.4g total including the longer screws):

Here is a pic with the RPM rear skid plate installed on my V3 Talion:

I'm also using a TBR (T Bone Racing) Typhon Basher front bumper. The weight increase was 40.1g total, including the longer screws. A bumper I also recommend as it protects front end on a bad landing or crash, & offers front underside chassis protection:

You also can use a RPM front bumper instead:

I also recommend rear mud guards, as the rear end of vehicle gets beat up very quickly from all the rocks and debris flying back off the front tires. I'm using clear ebay mud guards (which offer the best protection I've seen so far), but no longer there? RPM have mud guards also (coverage is not a high), but they "only" work on "their" rear suspension arms. I'm using TBR rear mud guards on my V3 Kraton, which are a bit heavier and have good height protection, but could offer more lengthwise protection:

I also recommend getting a spare rear wing mount, as the stock LP Talion wing mount I've heard is a weak point:
https://www.amainhobbies.com/arrma-ar320379-low-profile-wing-mount-set-talion-ara320379/p704964?r=0

I also changed my diff fluids to 50k/100k/7k, which is optional, but good idea to check your diff internals anyways.

You should now be ready to go. Hope this helps.

Also good to get a bearing kit from Fast Eddy as works out to only $1 a bearing. You can use any of Fast Eddy's bearing kits (all 4 that are listed for the Talion or Kraton will work on the V3 Talion)

Great, thank you for the details! I've been building race quads (drones) for a while, just getting into RC car/trucks.

I see... Thank you for helping, does this fans for motor fits the Talion?

No problem and glad I was able to help. However, I don't use a motor fan on any of my Arrma vehicles, even with larger pinions, so I cannot answer your question. However, I don't believe this Castle Creation motor fan will work on 1/8 scale motors, as I believe this is for 1/6-1/5 scale larger motors, like the Traxxas X Maxx, Losi Five T, etc)?

Maybe this one fits, it's 1/8:

Or this one?

What's the Talion motor diameter, one of those say 40.8mm and the other 36mm, I just don't want to buy and end up not fitting.

Edit: Nevermind, I found the diameter, it is 41.7mm, so the 36mm will not fit.

If you are planning to do speed runs I would recommend you to get yeah racing dual fans with heatsink
