So 25/40 may be a decent option for such a high kv motor like the 3200 but if don’t work I’ll use it for something else

I’m doing the same setup just about but with a typhon. I have found 22t pinion on a 46 spur works well with a 2900kv on 6s . I know your running a spool so you have a lot more spur options . I stayed with a diff With 2,000,000 center 1,ooo,ooo f and r. She is insanely fast. Just some more drag racing info . Good luck

Well I went with a 21 pinion 40 spur and it’s a beast but will not go straight yet??‍♂️
Balancing the weight distribution across the car and wedging the shocks are next steps. Also balancing each wheel, adjusting the power to build gradually instead of instantaneous when you pull the trigger. Building the car is easy, tuning is complicated.

Also, I've seen alot of guys with gyros running about 70%. Way higher than you would for a speed run. And the post about tuning couldn't be more correct! The Castle Bluetooth has helped me alot in test hits. Punch levels/ and throttle curve. Play around with those and see what works for you too.??

Well I’ve only been doing this stuff seriously since November so I may be way off base and go a totally different route but I was thinking like a 25pinion 40 spur but I was trying to get some ideas before I put it together
I'm running the kill mode 2900 What is the best Gears to use on this motor for Drag Racing a 132'

I'm building an Arrma Infraction 8s drag racer what motor and kv would be ideal for lots of torque off the line and consistent power all the way through.... and that pinion and spur gear combo?

Do you plan on racing on a no prep track or a prep track? This will determine how much power you can actually put on the track. Why 8s instead of 6s? 6s can be a better choice depending where you race. A lot of racers are using the 4070 2200kv TP motors for 8s drag racing and others are using the 4050 2300kv TP motors. There are also many other larger 1/5 motors you can choose, but they are heavier. This requires a lot of tuning to get the power down track especially when you're racing a lighter 6s well tuned car. Just some things to think about.

Well this has been a fun read. Here’s some real world info
Car runs 114mph on 8s and 98mph on 6s

limitless with tp 5650 1440kv in stock location on 1/5 motor mount
Mamba 8s and ripple killer 8s cap pack
Geared overdrive 36pinion/34spool spur
Only tested on rubber tires

here’s the first 2 passes

first pass was on 4s and hit 2.700 @ 54mph
Second pass on 6s with way more wheel spin and hit 2.750 @ 60mph

my gearing seems explosive down low. Any smaller pinion will just result in more wheelspin.

You’re way to high. Most end up somewhere around 42T-46T on the spur and 22-26 on the pinion. Depends on 6S/8S, kv and rollout. Plus you’ll need foams as previously stated. Try BSR XXPinks and you’ll need traction compound. You’ll need to be running 1.8 or less straight passes to be competitive.

Looking to run low 132ft numbers, not melt tires running 3 seconds LOL.
If your time is faster post it up!!!
I just did a 3.000 188ft. Is that a good number or should I be shooting much lower? It was my first time doing 188ft pulls, so I honestly have no idea.

I’m running 2.34 in 132ft 🤷‍♂️
don’t know what it would do in 188ft
Sounds fast!!
Ive since done a 2.860 in 188ft and can’t imagine getting tons faster without tire prep.
