Check your rear diffs. Sounds like you snapped a pin in the out drive.

Will do.. have you seen this happen before?

It felt more like my receiver was still giving throttle but the gyro should’ve held it straight..

I gotten tear and down and rebuild it.

I’ve seen it happen when my diffs warm up and get loose. I have also snapped quite a few RTR pins trying to make drag hits. That’s why I only run EXB diffs for drag now. It hurts the gear ratio, but you can make that up with motor gearing.

1/10 with notorious body lwb,4s,was waiting for rear diff to go,made it through 5,6 hits,2 best with limited traction.didnt heat tires up,didn't want to break another rear...fun thou, maybe I could spend the $ for metal rear diff..damn thing wheelhops all the way down the road, also geared for 95mph..

I know setup varies but I fought this some during testing with GRPs.
Tunned it out by taking some preload out of the rear springs, 1 full turn at a time until it was gone.
On foams I could add it all back without wheelhop as they were more forgiving.

Crazy thing is I don't run shocks,20mil in diffs,,,if the rear diff could hang, these are xm7s,xm1s heated up an think it would do some good #'s.mm2 + tp3650-3080kv is a beast of a motor.i have an xlx sitting, drag hits with the 350a max motor heat the mm2 quik.it cogs off the line, but I think it helps with the initial power shock helping it outa the hole.it doesn't just wheelhop outa the hole,it wheelhops till I let off.never seen this car do this...time to research metal diffs...😅🤣😂

IMO, Slow-mo video (focused on the rear, from directly behind) for the first 4’ of acceleration is an invaluable tuning aid.

Slow video down and Replay repeatedly while taking note of what parts of the suspension move or twist and how this movement either contributes to forward acceleration or wasteful harmonics. Small frequency is acceptable, large frequency is inefficient and should be addressed. Smooth is fast

Wonder what an ideal kv motor does best,I now it depends on volts being ran....would a 3500kv 4s setup do as good as a 2000kv 8s setup or what about a 1270kv 8s setup????????????????
Seams like 3000ish kv motors keep pulling where's 2000kv tops out before end also seams finding traction more of a chore.i just recently started playing with 3000+kv motors..more testing must be done...time to throw a dragster together
I'm still trying to figure out how to read these..my 3.28 at 71mph compared to randos faster 71mph run.does this mean I'm losing time getting outa the hole?????

Is that 4ft an equivalent of a 60ft?

A couple days ago I got a WL toys 14401 or whatever its called, its the 1/12 V2 brushless version. Its a fast little buggy, and pretty fun to drive anywhere. As quick as it was I wondered how it would do on a drag pass.. I saw it had holes for droop screws so I dropped some in and lowered it down. I threw on some 4tec 2.0 rims wrapped in Banana Skinz foam, and ran on a 4500mah LIHV 3s battery. I was expecting it to be super twitchy and all over the place but the rear wing kept it going more or less straight, but the throttle was almost like an on /off switch, running on the strong LIHV 3S battery and made it hard to launch as the esc had a small delay in it, then let all the power out at once. I only did a couple drag hits and one speed pass, it did 60mph top speed and a 2.85 in the 132ft at 55mph so pretty quick for a 1/12 cheap off road buggy, I think..
Unfortunately on the last run the super twitchy throttle got the better of me and I lost control while turning it back to me, and it went into a curb head on, bending a few pins and such. No problem though, a quick visit to the Aliexpress website and $26 later I have all the parts needed for a repair on the way to me lol. In the pics its stripped down waiting for parts. I don't know who makes the electronics, the motor just says 4300kv and the esc has nothing on it at all. I use this just for fun to mess around with but I'm pretty impressed with it. Id recommend it. Its about $130 shipped from most places, and get the V2 brushless version for sure

Been working on setting the Limitless up for some drag hits and finally had the time to get out this afternoon to get some baseline numbers and data

These are awesome numbers!

I can’t wait to get back out testing after I fix my car

@Mr.Duke interesting seeing your times. What foams are you running then?

I've not tried foams yet for drag but hear they're the way to go. Currently using S1 GRP tyres which are giving me much better results than my Hoons were on my Infraction 6S drag build.

My PB so far.

I got my Hobao VT drag car out over the weekend and got some test passes in. The car has a Max 6 and TP4050 motor on 8s, running on GRP S1 slicks. Its also on a CF Saga chassis. I practiced 132ft and 188ft runs but couldn't get as many runs in as I would like.
I'm happy so far with these times, considering most seem to get their best times running on foams not GRP's. Of course I would be happier if both times were about 2 tenths faster.. I'm hoping next time out I'll get those two tenths and more as the car will be on 25 shore foams with a larger diameter, and also a different body with a much smaller rear wing for less downforce and drag.
After only a couple passes I could see it was the same story as last time I tried drag, there is more time in the car for sure but my undisciplined finger hasn't quite figured out how to get a consistent smooth launch just yet, but working on it

Foams will dig way better than GRPs. I’ve tried all sorts of setups and so far Sweep Max Forward foams have been the best I’ve tried. They don’t last long, but they really bite.

Cheers bud, ...still trying to find what works.
I'll try to get some foams to try but as usually certain ones are hard to come by in the UK. ;)

I believe the Contact and Sweeps should be easily available there.

Late quick session to get some practice runs in with a friend led to a new PB!

This first run was on dry foams using 41/25 gearing

This second run was with the back tires prepped. Popping wheelies like crazy lol

Got some friendly racing with my friend and he hit a new PB too at 2.00sec at 72mph
