Just thought I'd share.

I'm working on bringing an v3 Typhon back to life and the shock tower was scratched up like crazy. I filed all the burs off the top "wings" and then let it sit in some draino and water for 10 mins each side. Rinse in fresh water and rub it with a rag. It eats the anodizing off and you're left with this shiny new aluminum look!

Nice cheap way to make your scratched up towers, wheel nuts etc look fresh 😁

Just waiting on a pair of new shocks to arrive and she's pretty much done. Will get a new body at some stage too, just to make it my own :)

Going to run on 4s. That's a traxxas 2200kv in there, with a mamba monster x. 47/19 gearing, felony rears on all 4 corners.

Oh and man do I hate soldering ec5 connectors. 😬

So this sat on my work bench for quite a while but it's up and running now. Got some tlr front shocks and a tlr sliding motor mount. Those old school v3 ones were terrible.

I ordered some stock v5 wheels from Jenny's but thy sent the tlr ones, not sure which are better but these look more 'professional' compared to the bashing look of the v5 ones.

Just gotta let all the threadlock dry and i can take it out for its maiden run!

Thinking about getting a pair of black shocks for the rear and the front servo saver plate to make it all look the same but thats just cosmetics. Maybe i should just draino them too?

Just grab some strut socks to make them all look the same!

Or... A cheaper quicker option is to grab a bag of those balloons the use to twist into animal shapes. Cut & slip them over the shocks!

Just learned today from Tomely RC's "Banana build vid" that oven cleaner will remove anodizing & polishing makes the parts look really nice!

Well, I went back to the draino and removed the anodizing off the plate. I also bought some aluminum polish and put a shine on it and the shock tower. Love the results! Poor man's m2c parts 😂

Bought an Amazon fan mount and got that installed. Still haven't even driven this thing 🙃.
