I think the AA tray has to be pulled out. There will be more space then.

Best bet is to measure the battery compartment then try to find a battery that fits.
Iirc that is a 2 pin jst connector. Hobbypower JST Connector 2 Pin with Silicone Wire Cable 150mm(Pack of 10pairs) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00E7MXA2W/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_2R8NDbTX86V13

Yes, it's jst. You can get a 2s quadcopter pack that fits. It's what I did with my radiolink tx.

Sorry to derail the thread. May be a dumb question but are there any advantages to using lipos over AA batteries? I use rechargeable AA batteries in all of my transmitters so I guess I don't really see the point.

Would like a bit longer go of the Tx between batteries, so hoping this switch will add some longevity.

LiFe is the way to go IMO. Won't catch on fire like LiPos.

Rechargeable NiMh are about 2000mAh and radio packs are about the same, so your longevity should be about the same. Main advantage is you just need to charge one battery instead of 4, and it will charge faster than some NiMh chargers can. If you already have a LiPo charger, you don't need to buy a NiMh charger too.

I am pretty sure the red power connectors on the battery wires shown above are these:

housings, JST p/n SYP-02T-1:
https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/jst-sales-america-inc/SYP-02T-1/455-2654-ND/2206861

sockets, JST p/n SYF-001T-P0.6:
https://www.digikey.com/product-det...inc/SYF-001T-P0.6-LF-SN/455-2652-1-ND/2796952

Just in case you ever need one. Granted I would probably buy the pre-built wires, because hand crimping the tiny JST brand terminals is a pain, even with the correct crimpers.

And those crimpers are rather overpriced for what they are as well.

I run mine on 4 rechargeable AA
Ditto, I just have 2200mah energizers in 2 of mine, then I have 4 of those weird cheapo ones they sold at Walmart with the usb port on the side, they actually work great. I've probably one charged the cheapos like twice in the past year.

Yea, why I want to change my controller over to Lipo batteries. Instead of changing/charging my batteries every 2 weekends... All this inquiry was about. Sorry if I didn't maybe make it a bit more clear from the beginning.

Like @razorrc said I would go Life so you don't have to worry about charging or discharging the lipo every time you use it.

My lipo chargers can charge nimh and nicd batteries.

Got ya, thank you and my apologies!

Is there a fairly standard C Rating or total mAh we want to stick around for Tx's?
Any battery will have enough C Rating for the needs of the TX.
I would focus on mAh ratings.

I wonder if LiFe batteries would suffice? ( They are not as volatile as LiPo)
Something like this:
https://www.amazon.com/Turnigy-Nano...ds=futaba+battery+pack&qid=1570814629&sr=8-10

On my Futaba 3pv fresh AAs display around 7v, but it always drops down to 6.2-6.5V very quickly and then stays in that range for many uses.

No need to apologize. I just wasn't sure what the benefits were to using lipo or life batteries over rechargeable AA batteries since I already have rechargeable AA batteries so I thought I would ask the question.

Got ya! Yea on the weekends when running the rigs, the Tx's can be On for about the length of time we are at our spot racing and bashing. As bad as it may sound, heh heh, we can start around 7pm and not leave until Midnight or later.
